Well we have had a pretty good weekend ...apart from Ellies little brother being sick ...well thats all under control and much better he has alergy problems and too add to that our foster boy is HW + which we are treating. Been more like Medicine man never mind dad lol.

Managed a small walk today about 40 yards up the road and back, been icing and massagging I think she really enjoys that ... well she sighs and closes her eyes during it and a ssoon as I stop she looks at me as if to say "go on another 10 mins laughing"

Well over and out its bedtime in Bama !!! I will be back later in the week. Hope everyone and their babies had a great weekend.

Btw I have been in contact with Comets mom Ge'lena, and she has been able to give me some great advice and a run down of how things went after Comets surgery. BTW to a mod ...Ge'lena is having problems getting on ..not sure if anyone is aware.

big-blink Thanks again!!!!!!

Glad to hear the weekend treated you both well. Did you see this post about massaging your Tripawd? Ellie will looooove this:

Well first of all sorry took few days to get back, last week was rough here ... fortunately we dodged the hurricane and just got the tropical storm.

BIG NEWS!!!!!!!

Ellie had her first surgery today. She will be staying with the vet until Thursday morning. Dr Myers said everything went

great and her vitals were all very good during and after the op. This i think was the longest day up till 4-30 when he called to tell me it was over and she was doing as good as could be expected. I felt so elated.

I will be getting pics Thursday and I will post to let you all see, and we will chronicle this as good as possible so anyone else facing this can use as a reference. Of course , I hope everyone will chime in and help me make sure ELlie is running around next year after full recuperation.

In your heart, where I belong.

Great news! When I saw your post, I thought "I've been wondering about them!" I'm pleased to see Elllie is getting what she needs and that surgery today turned out well. It's nice that she's going to be looked after for a few days, because this is a big deal (which you know already)! You'll have some peace of mind with her being cared for more than an overnight. I don't envy you the recovery, but I think you'll do great and so will Ellie.

Thanks for the update and post more soon!

Hope her recovery goes well!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Noticing this thread a little late, but way to go Ellie's Dad!  Super Dad by the sound of it. clap  Thanks for the chronicling too.  Paws crossed over here that we won't ever need the wisdom and knowledge you're gaining with Ellie right now (even in the, oh, 20 or so years more I plan on Gerry stickin' around, haha), but I appreciate your efforts nevertheless!

Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.

He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.

Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com

Oh my dog I forgot you were in that area, I'm so glad you're OK.

Well this is terrific news on all counts, and I'm really glad the surgery was successful! Thanks for letting us know. We're cheering you on and here to help however we can.

As I mentioned in my hello post Ellie has been back home for 10 days. So far so good, the TTA surgery has a long road to recovery in any dog.

So far she really has done very well, she came home to us on the morning of Thursday the 6th September and we managed to schedule time of to ensure that someone was home for the first week between Barbara and I.  I had taken Friday off so I was on the first night watch …. I had her settled and i decided i would sit up and keep an eye on her as long as i could .. so watching a movie and a few beers to relax I started to hear some wimpers , she was obviously upset and in pain … she just wouldnt settle again so this is what Barbara woke up to when she got up for work at 4-30am

Yip daddy climbed in and we fell asleep together …its just under 4x4 in there and i am 5 9 so …ouch still got a cramp lol. Anyway she was happy and slept like a log.

Suprised by the lack of bruising … this was on Friday the 7th …surgery was on the 4th. Improved by now in fact the clear cover you see has almost pealed off ..we were told that was ok. Wednesday next week is planned for the stitches to be removed.

Dreaming of playing with her three brothers again. Well I will keep you up to date and will get some more pics after the

stitches are removed.

Awwwwww. Cute!

That's great news her recovery is moving right along. I'm curious, how are your trips to take her potty? Is she standing on her own or are you using a sling? And how do you keep her calm with the other dogs around? Just wonderin'.

Not sure how I missed Ellie's update, but somehow I did! Glad to hear your girl is doing well!  She's got a ways to go recovery-wise, but all in all, she looks great!!  Can't wait to see more pics of your beautiful girl!
