My heart aches for you and your family, I am so so sorry.

This was the toughest decision and the most courageous one any pawrent could ever make. You are an incredible, loving pack leader and you did right by your girl.

I think Jerry said it all right here.....

So sorry for the loss of your sweet Shy girl.

From the most basic part of me I want to thank everyone for your love and support.  It is the true meaning of kindness.  I want to tell you that today was a suprising one for me.  I awoke in tears, I went to work in tears, and I came home with a dog in need.  I got a call on the "bat phone" that there was a 4 month old deer chihuahua that needed help.

I answered, and figured out that I can still drive my car despite a overwhelming sense of loss so I went and picked him up.  My boy's want to use him as a squeaker toy, but he is a welcome diversion as he barks constantly from my bedroom.

Shy I miss you, I love you, I wish you were here.  Until I see you again I am going to be spending time with pups in need.  Maybe by helping a dog find a home, I will be finding my way home to you.

Anybody know what to do with an un-housebroken, un-neutered little 4th month old funny boy?  He has lots of character!  Suprising in a small dog.  He about hops up 3 feet when he throws grass after going to the bathroom.

Seriously… anybody interested in a blue eyed funny boy?  I have someone coming in the morning to look at him.  Please keep your fingers crossed that she will fall in love.

Goodnight my sweet Shy.  I think of you moment to moment.

Elizabeth, you honor Shy by helping another in need. Maybe she sent you this silly, funny-looking, un-housebroken little munchkin to distract you and give you something to smile about. The idea of him being a squeaker toy cracked me up! I can just imagine...

Elizabeth,

I've haven't been online since Saturday. I'm so sorry about beautiful Shy.  You gave her angel wings and set her free of her troubled mind. She thanked you by letting you know that she found Jazzy and by sending you a funny boy to help you heal (and it sounds like you will be helping more than just your "funny boy".)

Thoughts and prayers are with you,

Lisa

Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end.  On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Elizabeth and Sammy,

We've been super busy since this weekend and haven't been online. We are so sad to hear about Shy. It's never easy to make that final decision for your friend, and the guilt and what-ifs can be unbearable. Deep in your heart you must know you made the best decision possible for your girl. And eventually, once the crushing emotions of what you've just been through have a chance to heal a bit with time, you'll be left with memories of the happiness and love that you shared.

We are just sorry we didn't get to meet her....

Distractions are good right now, you are such a sweetie for taking that little pup in. Elizabeth I swear you are a real-life St. Francis! I'm sure it won't take long to find a home, he's adorable.

Admin, it isn't anything like that, lol! (Saint Francis :))  It is just the budget has been cut for animal services.  There is only one place within an hour that is taking in homeless dogs and cats.  Most people now are just "setting them free" to run loose in the streets.  I think you, me, or anyone here wouldn't drive by them and leave them to try and survive on their own.

Great news, the lady I called came over and her dog and this one got along famously.  She drove off with this little rascal!  I told her "take him for a test drive, if you don't think he will fit in give me a call Friday... (used car salesman, thats me)

Now my house is quiet again, just the boys and me.  I need this time right now to grieve.  Little dog marked every spot, and I think took a #2 under my bed, so I also need this time to clean.

I am starting to hurt again in all this quiet.  I saved some of Shy's fur in a plastic baggie and placed it in my jewelry box.  I want to touch her again, kiss her pretty face.  I think I am going to cry again.

Peace,

Elizabeth
