As you'll see from the pics below, when Myrtle gets a little scared and needs a little extra reassurance, she climbs o yo mu lap for extra snuggly hugs. Oh, no, this wasn't because she needed reassurance about needles in the eyes!
Nope, it was because I told her she couldn't have anymore food tonight, and couldn't have breakfast in the morning!!!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

I know all of our Angels at the bridge are with her right now, keeping vigilant watch to make sure the doctors and nurses take good care of her.

Paula and Warrior Angel Nitro
Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"

HOME SWEET HOME😎😁 Everything went well!!!! And yes Paula, it was all done very quickly. I took her in at 11:00 and was taking her very drunk self home at 2:30!!
She's sooooo drunk and wobbly and whiny and confused and sooooo drunk!!! Finally gave her tumny rubs long enough she settled down so I could update.

Quick story! They were having "trouble" waking her up with the reverse injection. I told them to say "cookie". They did. She jumped right up! I so proud😎

Great great update! So happy she's back home under your watchful eye and Frankie's loving eye guidance. And a huge pat on the back to you Sally for being able to get a drunken Myrtle back home with just cookies. You truly are a "dog whisperer" with props. So happy all went well...now Miss Myrtle can go back to being Merry Myrtle once again. ❤️❤️❤️ LOVE the lapdog pictures! 😂
Looking forward to a pupdate, praying it's a good one. Those drunken pups can be a handful.

Miss Merry Myrtle finally appears to have sobered up!
Even falling over drunk that big blind chunk of love STILL was avle ro jerk her head just as I was putting in the gel. She has a beautiful well lubricated mug though,
The discharge papers were EXCELLENT . So everything is in the "normal" range of what to expect when and for how long. I did give her a Gaba last night as she was whiny and trembling and that helped her.
It may take up to a year for the bulging bug eye to get smaller. She may well form cataracts within two months but, according to the Doc, they will not be painful.
Yes, COOKIE is a glorious word for a food motivated dawg!

I have had to put drops in Mitchell's eyes now for dry eye. He's a bugger. When he's laying down i can sit in front of him and raise his top eyelid and with the other hand i gently drop the drop. I hold the bottle several inches over the eye and hope for the best aim 🤣 Of course I'm telling him all the time how much i love him and how good he is. If he's not totally laying down it ends up on his cheek 🤯🤯 After the drop, i take an eye wipe or a tissue and gently wipe his eye. It seems to work. Of course if you roam on to an ear massage it's a plus plus for them ❤️

I know you have a gel, but I've done that similarly. Once you get that routine that works use one special treat and like the ear rub, make it a special deal for her to look forward to.
