So unfair....I was hoping for more time....if I had had the money I probably would have gone for broke and tried chemotherapy or surgery....but it was probably too late...I was hoping we would be that small percentage that would squeak thru and he would have more quality time....I'm so selfish.

He would  be 16years old on August 8th.....

It doesn't help, but we all beat ourselves up for wudda'...shudda...cudda'.   We can tell you (and we can  tell ourselves) until we  are blue in the face you did EVERYTHING  possible, but we know for now that's Walter energy.  You'll realize it in time and you'll realize why you made the decisions you did.  All of the monies in the world amd additional therapies in the world would not have changed the outcome.  To think you should have put Jolie through more surgery,  more being away from you and Mignon, more poking and prodding for chemo, more stressful Vet visits, more nausea, more not eating,  feeling more  miserable during all of this efforts that almost 100% would not have given him more time.  In fact, it would have compromised  the good quality time that he did have.....and he did have plenty of good quality  time for lots of snacks  and cuddling  and purring with you.

It hurts is for you that you are beating yourself (again though, we all do it)  That said, for you to call yourself "selfish".......no Sir!!!  We will not allow that!  That is THE most illogical, irrational bull crap you could evvvver say!  So no, get that out of your head!!!!  Joloe would NOT tolerate  you saying that!!

Edward, we are surrounding  you with peace and strength today, and the days and weeks and more ahead.  We are here for you dear friend

♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

The three of youm have an unbreakable bond that can never be broken💖💖💖

The loss of Jolie is  immeasurable but so is the love and connection that you shared for  almost 16 years.

I have no words right now as I cry with you. Yes, we know he needed to leave Earth and go fly high with the angels in heaven. The relief we feel for him does nothing to lessen our grief for you.

Jolie has been a part of our family now since December 2023. We have watched the three of you go through the ups and downs, the highs and lows and the Joy's of celebrating  his miracle victories. wpWe have always felt it in honor to be by your side during all of this.

Edward, I really have no words right now. I just want to reach out and send you hugs through cyberland and wish we could ease your pain somehow.

Ohh I'm so sorry! 😢 Edward, may you and Mignon find comfort in each other. My hear goes out to you, I know this is so heartbreaking.

Never doubt for a moment that you were a great dad to him. You were the best furmily Jolie could ask for. You stayed by his side and really did go above and beyond for his care. You understood him so well, you made all the right decisions he would want you to make if he could. Jolie was so loved! And so lucky to have you looking out for him.

In time, the sad memories of these last few days will fade and all the years you spent together will take their place. True love always wins.

Edward said that the Vet sent Jolie silently  and softly on his way.  He felt relief that Jolie was no longer in pain, although we know his grief is suffocating.

Edward, watch from for signs from Jolie. I know he's really happy to be in heaven, free from pain and watching over you, just as you watched over him his entire life.  I also know he will send a sign, several signs, that he is okay and he lives nestled safely in your heart.

the vet confided in me that at the time of the amputation and seeing test results she thought he maybe had 2 months to live so she said she was amazed at 8 months. That's why she was surprised at every good test result.

I feel that jolie's spirit left his body when they aspirated the fluid from his lungs. He never recognized me again, not even on the morning I sent him to heaven

He left the earth so softly and calmly like floating away on a cloud.

The vet gave me a little book about cats. Inside, she and some of the nursing staff wrote some heartfelt notes about how Jolie affected their lives.

It was touching how much he has been loved.

Edward, we know it's hard to come back and post here. Thank you for checking in so we can at least send more cyber love and hugs♥️

maybe had 2 months to live so she said she was amazed at 8 months. That's why she was surprised at every good test result.

The reason he got seemingly impossible  extended quality time was because of YOU!! YOU!! YOU!!!  We continuously stood in awe of your dedication and the way you left no stone unturned when it came to Jolie's well-being.

....staff wrote some heartfelt notes about how Jolie affected their lives.............

It was touching how much he has been loved

You know that we are your extended family and, like so many others, have fallen in love with your handsome Jolie

He left the earth so softly and calmly like floating away on a cloud.

You expressed her transition  so beautifully.   I think it's something that we all will find very helpful as we deal with these loss struggles.

I know Mignon is also dealing  with grief in his own way. At the same time, I'm sure on a soul level he knew that Jolie was ready to float away on the cloud

  ♥️♥️♥️

Edward, thank you for letting us know how things are going. I agree that it's not easy to be here after suffering such great loss, and we are thankful to know that you and Mignon are getting through the days, one step at a time.

What a beautiful gesture by your vet and the clinic team. Jolie affected everyone so deeply, his purrsonality was so bright and beautiful!

Even though his body may not have physically appeared to have recognized you, I have no doubt that his soul felt your love. Remember that we are more than our physical presence, so much more! It's that invisible but powerful energy field of ours that absorbs the love from our family, and feels protected and comforted. Jolie felt you, and left this world knowing that you were his greatest ally, his biggest cheerleader, and his earthbound protector. And now that he is off in the clouds, he will be your guardian from above, always making sure that you and Mignon are surrounded by loving light and the purest form of love.

I hope that Mignon is handling this as well as can be expected. Please keep us posted. You are always part of our family here.

I was just thinking how wise and kind Jolie was near the end. First, the near perfect blood work at 14 July follow-up. Then just quietly stopping eating and laying quietly under the kitchen table.

Then that fateful hospital visit.

Once back home, detaching from me, making space between us, loosening the ties to make it easier when the time came.

On the final night, those soft yet insistent cries to let him go....

......

Talking about signs from Jolie, when I called my friend who lives in another city to help get him to the vet, the usually no seat available train suddenly had just one seat available so he could come here to rent a car and get us to the vet.

Everything went like clock work.

And the quiet calm beautiful way he went on his way......

Yes, your sweet Jolie definitely  was an enlightened and wise Soul.  Animals are so aware when their earth life is complete.  Jolie's behavior of "detaching" was  to help you know his physical presence might still be there, but the essence of his Spirit...of his energy....was moving on.  He knew you would understand....and you did.

The effort it took for your friend to get to you....the one available seat available  on the train.....then to get you and Jolie to the Vet....quite an ordeal, but Jolie orchestrated  it all so very well.

the quiet calm beautiful way he went on his way

Yep, Jolie did things his way

Edward said Mignon is eating now and is enjoying getting massages and brushed.

Edward, you have a really special way with words, I hope someday you will write down Jolie's life story in a book.

I'm glad that Mignon is with you and being receptive to affection and grooming, that is a great sign he feels comforted by your calming energy.

Ming (nickname!) seems to be doing a bit better today (I think!)

He ran to the door meowing as I came in, always a good sign. Then I brushed him, trimmed him, cleaned his eyes and gave him a little dry shampoo...and then some snacks....
He purrs but very lightly, because he is still in mourning....
He did leave a nice bm waiting for me in the litter box!....proof he's eating!
....I still feel Jolie all around me/us....

This is Mignon greeting Edward when he came home. Such a look of adoration and welcome home dad💖
