Sammy was rescued after being hit be a car. Fortunately, a dog-lover pulled over and brought him to a veterinarian (who also happens to be his Auntie). When he was found he was underweight and certainly would have died very quickly from his trauma. After about six weeks of unsuccessful treatment, his badly broken leg was amputated and he found hes fur-ever home with us.
Sammy is the happiest, most grateful pet. Pets that have seen how harsh the world can be certainly know when they have hit the million-dollar jackpot, and Sammy never forgets how luck he is. Thanks to his Auntie, he has a completely normal and active life and can actually run amazingly fast.
Sammy is gentle and great with children, but never misses a chance to grab food if he can get it. His daily walks are often 1-2 miles, and he is proud to be our pet. Loosing a limb was certainly traumatic, but the worst day of Sammy’s life also became the first day that led him to being a great family pet.
