If you need a general practice vet, I'd highly recommend VCA Ashford Animal Hospital.

They have four vets on staff (all female, if that matters to anyone). Dr. Slomer is the medical director and she's been practicing for 35+ years. Our vet is Dr. Betsy Garza and I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about her. They were right there with us through the passing of our previous cat and they handled the euthanasia procedure with such kindness and compassion, even offering to make a memorial pawprint plaque for us, and they held onto it until we were ready to pick it up.

More recently, our one year old cat had an accident and had to have his hind leg amputated and aside from the awfulness of the accident itself, the entire thing has been an incredible experience vet-wise. Dr. Garza has been with us every step of the way - we had to go in multiple times with unexpected issues related to his surgery and since we couldn't predict the times we were going to need help, we couldn't make appointments for him. The staff happily saw him every single time and called us back quickly to update us on his condition. Dr. Garza takes both a proactive and cautious approach to the care for an animal - she would much rather see our cat and assure us that nothing is wrong than have us stay home for fear of bothering them. She calls us back quickly every time and we can also email her pictures or questions if we have them in the middle of the night.

At one point, all four vets in the practice consulted on a treatment plan for our boy, and over the course of a month of recovery for him we spoke to all but one of the vets directly. They do pet boarding there as well as grooming services (not sure about those as our cats groom themselves!) Our cat has had to have a few overnight stays there for monitoring, and "his" vet tech sends us daily updates and pictures of him to let us know that he's doing well.

They're all absolutely incredible people and you can tell that the genuinely love pets and want to give them the best possible care. One of the vets even adopted a cat that was surrendered due to a leg injury, so they have firsthand experience with a tripod kitty!

They look like such a great clinic! Thanks so much for sharing your experience. We have many members in the Houston area so your feedback is greatly appreciated.
