Hello! My dog, Lady, is 1 year cancer free after her rear left amputation due to Soft Tissue Sarcoma. She has undergone metronomic chemo over the past year and has been given the all clear from her oncologist!

We are looking to purchase an Eddie's Wheels rear-wheeled cart, but it was suggested that I try her out in one first, if possible. As a charity will be purchasing this for her from donated funds, I am trying to fulfill this request. Lady is a retired working dog, she worked in Iraq, and is sponsored by Gizmo's Gift.

Does anyone in the Michigan, Northern Ohio, or Northern Indiana area have an Eddie's Wheels, rear-wheeled cart that would fit a 55lb German Shepherd? Maybe we can meet up so she can try it out?

She has been seen by a pain specialist here in Michigan, he is listed in the recommended vets page. He has measured Lady and has suggested an Eddie's Wheels cart for her.

Thank you!

Hello Lady & Tonya, welcome! Thanks for joining. I'm in the Tripawds Chat right now if you want to talk.

We are so glad you have already seen the specialist. Was it Dr. Petty by any chance?

Hopefully there is someone in the area who might have one you can work with. Do keep in mind though that the cart needs to be adjusted to Lady's height and length, or else you won't get a good idea of how it works for her. We had to have our Wyatt Ray 's cart adjusted a couple of times for him before we got a good fit.  You may want to take the cart to your rehab team to ensure a good fit.

Meanwhile please do tell us more about Lady in Share Your Story, she sounds like an amazing hero!

One more suggestion: you may want to see if this group that specializes in wheels and prosthetics has any spares they can ship you.

Hi ! Yes it was Dr. Petty, thank you!

Since Lady is already a sponsored dog through Gizmo's Gift, as she is a retired working dog who served in Iraq and Dr. Petty only suggests Eddie's Wheels,  we are going with them. The organization that you suggested utilizes another company and Lady wouldn't need to be sponsored by them.

I have updated Lady's site, so you can see pictures of her. She's so darned cute!!!

Thank you for all of your help!smiley4smiley10
