Hello everyone!

Just wanted to check in to let you know that Vaughn is doing pretty well since his surgery.  Getting him in and out of the car was awful and he was screaming.  Also a few times yesterday he woke up and started screaming but thank God that has stopped!  It could have been from the surgery meds.  and anesthesia.

He actually ate pretty good last night.  I have a friend staying with me until tomorrow so that really helps.

He is learning quickly how to move around.  Another greyhound friend stopped over today and Vaughn was wagging his tail and got up and was so happy to see him!  My friend has a greyhound who had her leg removed almost 2 years ago and is doing great.

The only thing that bothers me is I can't see the incision.  It is covered up and they put a mess t-shirt on him to hold it in place.  I can see swelling and fluid build up.  I know that is normal but I just wish I had a better view.  I will take a picture and text it to the vet tomorrow just so I feel better Lol.

Thank you !

Oh yay for Vaughan! He's making pretty good progress and quickly. Sounds like his pain is under control too, what's he on?

Try not to panic about the swelling and fluid, a compression wrap can help it reabsorb back into the body. Good to have you vet check it though.

Wagging his tail?? Getting up to greet your friend?? Apparently somewhat mobile for a few hops??  YAAAAAY. FOR. VAUGHN....AND  YOU!!!👏👏👏👏👏

Yeah, some Vets use compression  bandages and some don't.   And as you already know, seromas are not unexpected at all.  Bit as Kerry said, you can run this by the Vet.

Kee we ppsted and Kee Vaughan extra treats for we, okay?  And give yourself a pat on the back for getting through the worst part!

Pam,

Paula sent me the picture.  Vaughn looks really good.  He doesn't look like he has any fluid built up and that compression that he has on will help absorb what little there is.

He sounds like he is doing really well.  Keep up the good work.  🙂    Don't panic and we are here for you
