Happy New Year Friends- 2015 or bust..here we come!  We all visited with our friends at UCD this past Monday and had our treatment review, the tumor sites ( 3 in total) have remained stagnate as in no new signs of growth. The rounds of radiation seem to have stunted the growth of the tumors and the Chemo seems to be keeping them at bay from spreading or creating any density. So, that is good news- The doctor agreed that the elbow tumor IS healing but it's slower than he was hoping, so we agreed that we would discontinue anymore radiation sessions until EITHER the tumor starts to re-form and grow dense OR the skin has completely healed and is back to normal standard.  We did come home with another round of Chemo and some Liver meds as his blood panel is showing signs of "wear and tear" on the liver.  So all in all I am feeling pretty good about our progress and road ahead, we all are feeling as though we can make it into the new year with some hope that we'll see maybe another birthday for Joe (July time frame) .  Today when I was getting Charlie ready for our nice brisk walk- Jojo let me know he was done staying home, he barked at me like never before saying "nope mom, i'm going this time...I feel great and my elbow doesn't really hurt anymore.... Let me go with you guys!"  so off the three of us went- we walked our usual route which is about 45 minutes and when we got to the park I let both the boys off leash to run around.  It was early so there was literally No one out- they had a blast!  Here's our first pic of 2015! Thanks to you all for your continued support- Much Much Love!

Mia so happy for you and Jojo and Charlie. Have to laugh at the upset poop and vomit caused your hubby.  Tell him it builds character.  Keep up the good work. They are both beautiful. BTW I now have three on the furniture. Started with my yellow lab- because she is old. And has slowly graduated to all of them.  Didn't help that my husband has been home for the past month. Letting them lounge on the furniture decreases his need to get up and chase them. Oh well...we are dog people for a reason!

Hello Friends- I bet you thought I forgot all about you- nope not a chance.  I'm sorry it's been so long since I've posted.  Jojo is a champ- we had a visit to UCD last Thursday and got a good strong report.  The cancer has not spread anywhere- lungs are clear, kidney's are clear and all his growth sites have been stagnate for the last 6 weeks.  No new growth clap

We came home with our 4th round of Chemo, more antibiotics, liver meds and pain relievers- the doctors have said we can go up to 6 rounds of chemo before we have to revisit further treatment and whether it's necessary.  They also gave us some interesting cream for the Elbow tumor because it still has a small spot that is raw and open- the cream has silver compounds in it as they say silver has healing properties.  We are to use this on Jojo once a day in small amounts.  Anyhow- I feel like our decision for this particular treatment path was spot on- he is really responding well and in conjunction with the change in diet we couldn't really ask for anything better.  I will say Jojo was a little pissed off after this last visit because they had to re-shave his stomach and he looked at me as if to say... "Are you kidding- that hair just grew back!!!  geezzzzzzzz"  winker

I will take some new pics soon and post to share with you all.  Thank you for all your positive energy, well wishes and thoughtful prayers- they are working.

Much Love-

Mia, Jojo and charlie too!

OK does a Monday get any better than THIS? I think not! YAAAY! clap

Really, really great news, thanks for not forgetting about us. What is the cream called? I'd love to write about it, lots of us here deal with those nasty hygromas.

Okay, I'm really, really late to this topic, but read every single post since the beginning and I absolutely love Joe and Charlie!! I'm a Lab person as well and lost our sweet Harmony on Nov. 1st to MCT.

It really did my heart some good to read and see all the pictures of your fur-babies! And I'm so impressed with Jo-Jo's improvements! What a champ!!!

Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

Hello Friends-  It's been a very long week and last night when I was home decompressing from work I thought about you all and getting some new pics uploaded!  so, I snapped a couple this week to share of my sweet sweet boy and thought I would upload them for you to see how Jojo's hanging in.    I will say that really the only thing I am noticing in him these days is his desire to sleep- he sleeps a lot and we have to cut our walks a little short these days because he does get tired pretty quickly, but none the less he is a Champ.

*Jerry- I'll will also get the name of the silver cream and post before the weekend.

All that sleep means he's getting his beauty rest! Look at that handsome boy, he is so darn adorable!!! Thanks for sharing that made my evening.

Whenever you can get the name of the cream, no rush. Time with JoJo is #1 right now.

Awwwww....what a sweetie!! Can we come over and snuggle with that cuddly boy? He looks soooo content!

I agree with Jerry...a handsome boy like that needs his beauty sleep!! Plus, being loved and spoiled 24/7 can wear a pup out!!

Keep these pics coming! We love Jojo!
