YAAAAAAY Shelby!! And you can Google too? As well as doing the Tripawd Twirl? And imitade the guy in the Gry Poupon commercial!! You rock SHELBYSTRONG!!

Okay..a little aside.....no woder I have problems typng, etc.! Look at the size of that computer screen! And your ot trying to balance it on your lap while it keeps falling on tne floor! And you have so many more "things" showi g up on your screen than mi e does!!

Geez....anybody can use a computer like that.....it takes a really skilled computer techie to use a tablet!! Heck, your coputer doesn't know how to skip over "n"...type an "m" when you ot the space bar...put a "j" in place of an "h"...and eliminate an "h" when you type the word tat...see...see what I mean?

GREAT NEWS SHELBYSTRONG!!! Keep on twirling!! Look forward to more pictures tonignt! Shelby, you aren't googling daring sites for single mature dogs are you? Better yet...young studs?

LOVE!

Shelby needs to learn how to type so we can chat with her directly, I'm sure she has a lot to say.

Glad to hear she's good. Whew!

Scary!!!  The heart murmur thing sounds likely.  Passing out from too much excitement + too much pressure from momma (and maybe on her stump?) + low iron = Shelby goes nap-nap?  Whatever it was, I'd be freaked out, too, if Jackson went limp.  The fact that she's better, is superb!  Let's just keep that from happening ever again...too much drama, Miss Shelby!

Tomorrow when they take her in they'll take her blood to check out her WBC.  Have them also do whatever it is to examine her red blood cells - are they normal looking?  Are they prevalent enough?  And, what's her iron count?

Good luck tomorrow!  I hope all her signs and bloods check out and she's good for another shot 'o the Juice!

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Successful vet visit. Another IV cocktail of chemo! 🙂

Her onco didn't seem worried about her 'seizure' thing - could be lots of things but nothing related to her cancer. It's even possible when I picked her up, I actually choked her and cut off the blood flow and thus - she freaked and passed out. But either way, she's totally fine.

Her iron is really low so we are switching her to a new iron pill. We got back in 3 weeks for *hopefully* our last dose of chemo and more X-rays. Her onco also is not worried about her mets - she keeps saying they are tiny, tiny, tiny! And that dogs can do fine on 75% less lung capacity so Shelby's coughing, etc... not related. Probably Shelby's throat from years of pulling.

So basically - she told me to "Be More Dog " as my dog is doing great! So Shelby got In and Out for dinner (just a patty, she did gain some weight and has been 'warned') and the rest of her frosty paws. Snoozy time soon!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Everything sounds great! I'm glad the vet isn't concerned about her episode.

I guess you've come up with a new deffinition of smothering with love, you know, like when people say "you take my breath away" winker

Seriously though, glad Shelby is doing OK.

OMD Alison, that would have scared the crap out of me!  Especially the 'limp in your arms' part.  Obviously a lot of other people have had similar experiences and could offer great insight and advice.  Thank goodness for that!!!  I took notes for future dogs.  Yikes.  I'm glad everything went well today.  You two are iron strong, I'm very very impressed!

What a wonderful checkup!  Congrats!  We hate mets, but if they're there, we like 'em tiny!  YES!  I hope her new iron pill works wonders, too. Oh, I'm just SO happy to read this update this AM!

Alison, I am so very happy to hear that nothing serious happened to Shelby. I was kind of leaning that way anyway, but to hear it, made my day very happy as well. Hoping you and Shelby can celebrate by going to the beach this weekend, and maybe she can give a few digs in the sand for my Polly.

{{Hugs}} , have a great day and upcoming weekend,

Thank you everyone for your support and calming energy! I guess I am a real 'mom' as I put Shelby's needs in front of my own and found some inner strength to put on a happy face and be positive around her. I cannot say that it is easy but I refuse to show Shelby that I am scared. I was talking to a woman in the vet waiting room yesterday and told her that I firmly believe the drugs AND the positive energy Shelby is surrounded with are what is helping her fight this.

The funniest thing was it was busy, busy and we were put in a 'cat' room with all sorts of 'cat toys' and Shelby was intrigued by them. There was even a cat cozy (I guess)... a little house that has a hole for them? Shelby tried to stick her nose all the way in and I promised her  there were no cats in there! But the dog rooms never seem to have "dog" toys or beds.... hmmmm....

LOL Karen - I do need to watch the 'smothering' of her since it makes her cough ... I don't think she likes super tight snuggles!!!

I also love how they always 'dress' her up post-chemo! - *look at that fat belly!!! Boot camp time for Shelby!

Frosty Paws are the best!!! (She still grabbed the whole thing out of there and wolfed it - my girl is so not a lady or dainty).

Since we are supposed to have a TON of warmth and sunshine, I will take her down to the beach so she can feel the sand in her paws (her favorite) and bask in the warm (I'll bring her some shade). She was surprisingly NOT tired last night after visiting her entire fan club at both vets and seemed great this a.m. I feel like I know the drill now ... 2 - 3 days post chemo means a tad more lethargic Shelby but she really wants snuggles and just to have her mama around!

Wow, what a great update!  Hoppy news! Time to Be More Dog !  Let's say it together..."mets, schmets, mets, schmets!" :)

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Anyone else feel the need to be as cute and wonderful as Shelby?  I wanna wear a bandana, stick out my budda belly, and enjoy some ice cream!  I, too, wouldn't mind feeling sand between my toes and napping in the shade...!  I wanna be Shelby!
