Michelle and Sassy!

Really, I think you can chalk all this up for Sassy as just plain having a rotten, "doesn't feel good day" due t to all the stuff she has going on. Not so mich tne mets as all the infection, antibioics and then the rimadyl on top of that.. It's virtually impossible to be patient under this scenario, but I think you'll find her feeling better.....not as fast as you'd like.....but a couple more days. This kind of infectin crap takes a toll on any dog, vut it's a little jarder on tripawds with mets, comsequently, it knocks 'em down a little more and takes them a little lomger to recover.

Michelle, of course you aren't feeling positive right now!! Of course you're frightened! To try and stifle those feelings would only make YOU sick! It's us, remember? Do whatever, say whatever.....it's us...yoi're extended family who loves you and Sassy and we are here for you!!

Maybe you could ask Dr. Boyer if a B-12 injection would help perk up her appetite. I still think she just doesn't feel like eating because of all the infection she's dealig with. She probably figures every pkece of food your'e trying to give her right lw has a pill in it! Sassy's one smart pupwinker

Just one more thought, maybe Dr. Voyer could load up an IV bag for an under the skin injection you can do at home that's full of vitamins, fluids, etc.

I know you'll keep usposted, but keep us posted on how yoj're doing too! Okay?

Lots of love to you and Sassy!

I'm sorry that Sassy isn't feeling well.crying  Daisy recently had a UTI during her knee surgery recovery and it really set her recovery back.  Before the UTI got diagnosed I could not get her to move.  It was a chore getting her out to potty.  I had to use slings on both the front and back end and practically carried her to the grass with them.  She had no interest in anything.

UTI's are painful.  Add to that the fever and they feel just crummy.  It took about 5 days of antibiotics but she is like a new dog.

I hope Sassy feels better soon!  Give the antibiotics some time to work and she'll be back to her old self in no time.

Thank you everyone.  Here is the evening update.  She has had a total of 4 tramadol today plus her other meds.  Dr Boyer suggested it as she thought she was in pain from the infections.  So we did.  She has slept most of the day.  Breathing is better.  Eating not so much.  But we did eat a dehydrated chicken strip treat (my friend makes them) and a bowl of yogurt.  Better than nothing.  I may try to give her a bit more if she isn't too drugged up.

Thanks Hannah & Sally

Hugs

I am THRILLED that she ate something. YAY!

Being on tramadol isn't fun but pain killers serve a purpose and it sounds like they might be working for Sassy and helping her feel better. Paws crossed for more good news tomorrow. We are thinking of you both and sending our love.

Roxie and her loyal food delivery person hope Sassy feels better tomorrow.  We're also at the "whatever works" stage.  I'm thinking of scrambled eggs and ham tomorrow morning.  OR chicken alfredo left over from our dinner tonight.  My husband saw how much chicken and mushrooms I was cooking and knew who it was for.

Hang in there!!

hopefully the meds will help and Sassy will be bouncing back soon. It takes a bit for the antibiotics to work. I think the pain meds are a great idea.

Hang in there.

Well we did eat some hamburger yesterday evening.  I had fried some up for a casserole and took out some and she gobbled that up so I cooked some more up and then cooked some this am for her she ate that.  So maybe back on track with that.

I still can't tell if its pain from the infection causing the hard panting or more from the mets.  I also think she is running a low grade temp.  But can't give asprin with NSAID so not sure what to do.  We have an appointment this afternoon for blood work etc and will have her check all that too.

Stirling, we are heartbroken to say that Sassy suddenly earned her wings last week. You can read about it in her blog  and in the Coping with Loss Forum.
