I am just heartbroken today. Β Rosie is doing great and on Monday will have her 2 month ampuversary. My other 11 year old golden Braden had 2 seizures this week. Β His Lymphoma is back after 3 years of remission. Β

My husband died of cancer 4 years ago. Β These dogs saved my life. Β Gave me the strength to get through each day, and helped me to grieve and recover. Β

Braden and Rosie are inseparable. Β Braden has been Rosie's pack leader since we brought her home at 8 weeks old. Β According to the vet the 2nd recurrence of this damn disease is less susceptible to chemo and dogs go within a few weeks. Β

I am so scared that Rosie is going to 'give up' if her big brother crosses the bridge. Β My life has been so full and complete with these 2 golden balls of energy. Β

Anyway-just wanted to let everyone know why we've been a bit absent. Β

Best of Holidays to all. Β

Kellye and the pack.Β

Oh Kellye, I'm so sorry you and Braden are dealing with this. You and your pack have been through so much.

You have your husband watching over you, Braden and Rosie. That's a very strong energy force who will help hold you up. You have us. You are not alone!

Others may chime in with more insight into options for Braden, okay? As you already know, Braden isn't listening to any "diagnosis" or looking at days in a calendar. Just like you ate already doing with Rosie, you are going to stay in the moment and make everyday for Braden THE BEST DAY EVER!!!

Don't waste time worrying about the tomorrows. NOW is what counts! You habe Braden with you NOW and that is all that matters

A d whenever Braden needs to transition, yiur husband will be there to reunite with so much joy! Can you imagine how happy they will be to see each other? But that's not going to happen today!!

You are far stronger than you realize! We see it. And besides, we are here ro help you every step of the way!

We woukd loooove ro see pictures of your sweet Braden, and Rosie too of course!!! Continue ro spoil, spoil, spoil and make everyday count!!

Surrounding you with love and hugs

I'm so sorry Kellye.

Once you join here you are family, we will help in any way we can on your journey with Braden.Β  I don't know about lymphoma in dogs but I did have two cancer dogs at the same time for awhile, the pug girls, I do know a little about how hard it is. Dealing with cancer in one dog is one more than we should have to, and when it strikes our family and friends it is overwhelming.

If it does come to Braden crossing the Bridge then you and Rosie will hold on to each other and help each other deal and heal.Β  It is hard on the pup left behind but what I have seen is that like in everything dogs are so resilient and bounce back pretty quickly after a loss, at least way faster than we do.

I am so so sorry to hear this. Β I considered myself fortunate that Tess displayed no symptoms while Otis was alive, so IΒ didn't even know she had cancer. Β She got to share in all of the treats and good times however, and I had her with me after Otis passed. Β I am so sorry that you are going through this, and hope that they both surprise you and beat the statistics.

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Β Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Β Lung mets August 25, 2016.Β Β Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Β  Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.Β Β

Wherever they are, they are together.

Oh, Kellye, I am sorry you are feeling such anguish at this time. Β I understand how incredibly important Braden and Rosie are to you given the loss you have already endured with your husband's death. Β I am so sorry Braden has had seizures and that his remission appears to have ended.

Sending warm thoughts for strength and courage to you all and healing - much healing. Β I really hope Braden has more time left with you than you are fearing. Β We are hear to help in any way - even if it is just to listen.

Don't lose sight of the good things - like how well Rosie is doing.

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly. Β His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.

I was offline for a few days, Kellye, so I've only just seen this now. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this. I know how important your dogs are to you and how much you love and cherish them. I remember you talked about Braden in one of your very first posts, and how he'd smashed all the odds. He may very well smash them again, and obviously I very much hope he does. But however long you have left together, the crucial thing is to make the most of every precious moment.

Sending love and strength,

Meg, Clare and Elsie Pie xxxΒ

I just want to say thank you to everyone for all of your support and kindness. Knowing that you all truly understand the feelings makes it all the more special. Β

Rosie has chemo #3 today, at least she is scheduled. Β Neutrophils are high so they may hold off. Β The best thing is she has no idea that she's sick and smiles and hops all around day in and day out. Β She celebrated her 2 month ampuversary Monday, and I have absolutely no regrets. Β

Tomorrow we are having professional photos done at the beach with the dogs, me and my youngest. Then my eldest and grandson will be up the following week to finish the shoot. The photographer had a tripawd and has a special spot in her heart for them. She is giving me such an incredible deal and the pics will be awesome. Β I will post for sure!!

Now we are off to the park and Sunday up to the mountains for a romp in the snow. Β

Making the very best of every day!  ❀️❀️❀️

Thanks all! Β

Can't wait to see the photos!! I KNOW they will be SPECTACULAR!!! And for the photographer to have been owned by a Tripawd...pretty darn special.

And Rosie is doing great and thst makes us all so happy! And your sweet Braden having every day be BRADEN DAY a d goi g with Rosie to romp in the snow is wonderful! Take lots of pictures!!

Michelle always reminds us to make sure we take pictures with ourselves in them! Another member reminded us to take lictures of our dogs and cats doing "everyday" things, whether it's s@eeping, sunbathing, begging for treats, etc

Thanks for the update. You're doing a stellar job of staying in the NOW!

Rosie has chemo #3 Friday and is doing well. She slept yesterday and woke up to 6 inches of snow this morning. Dogs have been rolling and wrestling off and on all day. What a great way to bring in the New Year!
The Oncologist also saw Braden Friday and we discussed options. We gave him an L-Spar injection Friday and he begins a mini round of the CHOP protocol Tuesday. She says because he beat the osjdds by making it 3 1/2 years before remission that he is likely to respond well this time too. If we get another miracle he will die of old age instead of cancer!!!
praying for continuing miracles.

Oh Rosie and Mom 🌹🐢

I am so sorry for my late reply ...

I felt really rotten reading about your husband, Branden and Rosie but your last post brightened everything up β˜€οΈ

Your dawgs have been playing in the snow, Rosie will have her chemo on Friday and Branden is likely to respond well to chemo too πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽ‰πŸŽˆ

This journey is totally crazy and so full of ups and downs, joy and disappointment, we really must concentrate in the now and savour every single day just like you did today.

I can picture the happy smile in your face when you looked at those two gorgeous babies of yours playing in the snow and I bet they were deliriously happy ☺️☺️

Can't wait to see the pictures πŸ“· what an incredible coincidence the photographer had a tripawd 🐾

Sending you an avalanche of kisses and many many many cuddles to your cuties πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ’žπŸΆπŸΆ

Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4Β May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30Β Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. So do we have pictures of the dogs frolicking on a sandy beach, or frolicking around in the snow??! πŸ™‚ Guess we'll have to stay tuned to find out!

I really like that your Vet is showing some optimism for Braden!! And just to add a bit more optimism, I had a brief conversation today with a customer who was owned by a Cane Corso....a BIG Corso! At twelve yrs she had her spleen removed and was diagnosed with lymphoma. They proceeded with Holistic treatments and she got ANOTHER YEAR of quality and crossed over at the ripe old age of THIRTEEN!!

Hep, keep thise miracles coming!!

Love!
