Sounds like Chico is doing great. It's amazing how it doesn't phase them at all when they fall, isn't it? (Meanwhile, we stand in the background and hold our breath...)
That makes sense about the Metacam. Abby was on Piroxicam (similar) as part of her MP (metronomic protocol - or at-home chemo drugs).
Hooray for gaining weight and the cancer not winning. Lose, stupid cancer. Lose!!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Kori,
Chico's elbow was really swollen and sore prior to his surgery. He was off and on limping for months before it was determined that he had cancer. By the time they did the surgery, it had spread to his lymph nodes, but it appears no farther (chest xrays were clean).
If surgery is the option for you, don't feel bad. I'm amazed at how well Chico has bounced back from his surgery. And of the two kinds of cancer that Chico could have had, he got the worst. Synovial cell is bad, but not nearly as bad as histiocytic cell sarcoma.
Good luck! I hope all turns out well for you.
