Hope Tule is resting well. We are just a week out from surgery and those first few days can seem pretty slow going, but it is amazing how fast they heal. We are keeping Eva in a pretty small place and did what you did with the hardwoods, runner carpets everywhere especially to the doors  . We have found that the first few days are lots of sleeping and trying to stay comfortable, but us keeping positive really has helped our Eva. Eva also started chemo right way and so eating was my biggest concern. As Karen said, we just spoil her with anything she will eat. Sometimes she loved chicken and other times it turned her stomach. So patience on the food. It sometimes takes all day with a bit here or there of 5 different things, but lots of love and rest makes a difference. We also have found that feeding on a plate or out of our hand seems to help. We also have found that her pain meds impact her appetite so we have learned when to try to feed her based on when she last got her meds. for her, it was about 3-4 hours after her meds that she was most alert and hungry. We also got a smaller water bowl that we could hold and fit in her cone helped her drink more since she didn't always have to move to the water bowl. 

Each days gets better and little more personality comes back. One other thing that we did that seemed to help when she had to go out to the bathroom after dark was a bright flashlight so that she could see in front of her seemed to help her.

Other than that, just lots of love and some binge watching movies so you all hang out together.
