Just brought my lab home today from his surgery on Thursday and reading this thread has helped ease my concerns. Thanks!

Hello, Stella's Dad from Jersey:

It is going to get better.  This is major surgery and she will improve.

May I ask, is the cancer soft tissue sarcoma?  Nerve sheath tumor?  Just curious - it doesn't especially matter, but some of what you said sounded familiar.

Glad you held on to the Gabapentin and I think you should not be timid about asking for more if she shows any sign of pain as your supply runs low.

Sending many good thoughts to Stella for improvement!

HI Hester stella had a cutaneous aprocrine adenocarcinoma. Presented as a sore on her paw pad. which brought us to the vet. After further exam, she had a tumor on top of paw and swollen lyph node, all which had cells in them. they were all removed, but the pad would never heal and kept getting infected after 3 attempts to suture it closed it would reopen deeper each time; which lead us to where we are today..
