Polly had another surgery earlier today, to remove 2 new lumps we found on her; one on each rear leg, and both in the thigh area. We are hoping by finding them early and having them removed asap, that we can contain any cancer spread....time will tell, I guess. The initial aspirate could not definitely determine what these new growths are (which also happened with her hemangiosarcoma). But with Polly's cancer history, nothing, except a recurring mast cell tumor, has been ruled out on her first growth. She did well for the most part, but once we got her home, she is resting on her bed and a bit depressed. I know she will bounce back by tomorrow or the next day, but we are starting to wonder if she has had enough with surgeries. This is her 4th one in less than a year, and the first 3 were major surgeries, including her amp, with a ton of chemo and comprehensive testing along with those.  This surgery was fairly minor, but still a surgery, and it seems she is showing the signs of, enough is enough......

Oh Polly...you are such a beautiful girl.

I bet you're glad you're home to snuggle in your own bed.

Hugs for all of you

Poor Polly!!! Such a pretty girl! I feel her pain. Shelby's had 3 surgeries (pretty major) in 7 months - so she is most definitely over being poked, IVs, shaved booty.... They do reach their limits, don't they? But she does look pretty comfy snuggled in that bed! Sending you lots of love and hugs from Los Angeles!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Awwww, poor pretty girl.  I hear ya, Polly.  I couldn't imagine having gone through the first one, so the fact that she bounced back from that at all (like they, mostly, all do!), is outstanding.  Then more procedures?  Poor thing.  I hope, too, this is the last for a long time or forever.  Hang in there girlie.  Momma will love up on you and treat you just right.  Life will be A-OK.

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

I'm so sorry Polly! Yeah, all that poking and prodding, it's the pits! I hope that you won't need any more and you can get back to having fun. Get well soon!

Oh baby girl, you are such a love.  I'm so sorry you have to go through more poking and prodding.  This disease is indeed crappy!  I hope you feel better very soon!

Awwwww.....sweet, sweet Polly, I want to jump rightthrough the screen and cuddle withnyou! You are just so dan sweet! You melt my heart withnthose beautiful brown eyes of yours!

I know you don't feel exactly like having a pawty yet...but you will!! Heck, anybody would feel a little "down and out" after all these surgeries.

As sweet and gentle as Polly looks, she's one heck of a fighter! Bonnie, try not to read too much i to how she's feeling right now. Recovering from any surgery ismhard to watch whenit's yor pup. Like you said, in a couple of days she get her 'mojo" back and all this will be worth it.

Try not to fast forwrd either to all the "what ifs". Whatever happens...or not...in the future, yo will kow what to do, or not do, at tat time. Right now, you've done what needs to be done with the possibiityif some realky good results for a long time to come.

You and Polly are a great team with an endearing bond. Continue to stay in the NOW with Polly and let NOTHING rob you of your special tmes together.

Now go give that beautiful soul a hug for all of us, okay? Polly is going to bounce back and that will make everything so much better!

Cheering for you Polly!! You're a true hero!

Sendinglots of healing love!

Aww, poor Polly. Hoping those lumps are benign!

Barret was diagnosed with Hemangiopericytoma May 16, 2013. Front left leg/scapula/pectoral muscle was amputated on June 11, 2013 and we've never looked back. Follow our story on http://barret.t.....pawds.com/ and read my column on That Pet Blog

Thank you to everyone, you all have a way of calming my stress.......we had a really rough night and overnight, but Polly is much better today. I talked to her vet and he said he used a newer anesthesia with her that is better for senior dogs, and it just disagreed with her a bit. She is eating today and resting more comfortable.
Sally, thank you again for your words of support, sometimes I do worry too much and I probably shouldn't, but just my nature. You are right, Polly and I have a bond like no other beloved dog I have ever had, maybe because of our long history and journey together fighting so many illnesses that have befallen her. We jumped into each other's heart and soul, the first time we met, when she was 9 weeks old. Took her home that day as my birthday present to myself in October of 2004.

I have given Polly hugs from everyone, and all of you mean so much to me. Dreading her biopsy results, but will let you all know when I get them.......
