It is confusing. Zip is alive and well. I just help take care of Zip and take her to appointments when my daughter can not do it. Safari, the dog that died is also her dog but I had been keeping her on and off for this last year to help  her, my daughter, out. She has or had 4 other dogs and it helped her to have us keep Safari much of the time. We all live close to each other so it is like running to the neighbor's house but not quite that easy. My two dogs get the benefit of having lots of "cousins" to play with and we get the blessing of lots of dogs to love and to be loved by them. Between my two daughters and my husband and I,we had 10 dogs and the smallest is my 36# border collie! They all get along and since we have no grandkids we have lots of love to give away! Oh, we have two cats who get along with all the dogs but two.One of the cats is a tripawd so she and Zip have much in common.

Aww. I'm sorry about Safari.

I'm glad Zip is okay!  Sounds like a lot of dog fun!

We had a good ultrasound of all the organs and the heart and she is still looking good. Oncologist is surprised she still feels so bad after chemo.  Takes her a good week to be back to normal but with the carboplatin though she didn't get sick she did have some side effects there with not wanting to eat right afterwards and then at the 10 day mark. This is usually bad two days afterwards then for the next 3 days pretty miserable but with bouts of rambuctionist [new word] mixed in so i really don't know if it is worse. She has more energy off the carbo but is the doxyrubician as good? Time might tell but with this cancer who really knows?

Need some ideas to help the other older b/c in our family who is about to have half his liver taken out for hopefully a benign  liver mass. Biopsy said benign but.... anyway, though he is very active his rear leg muscles have suffered some atrophy and I am dogsitting him for the next two weeks and have time to build up those muscles before his surgery on the 8th of August. Anyone have some favorite muscle building exercise for dogs?

Watch our recent veterinary oncology video interviews for info about doxy vs. cisplatin (another platinum based chemo drug).

You'll find links to plenty of exercise videos on the Tripawds Fitness Gear page. The FitPAWS equipment is fun and very helpful, but you could also build your own Buja board or use couch cushions instead of the Balance Disc.

We built one of those boards for Zip after her amputation. We used your instructions and it works great. Don't think Zip uses it anymore so I bet I can use it for Ace. Why did I not think of that?! I think a monkey must have borrowed my brains tonight or the Texas heat has fried what was left of them anyway! Thanks for the reminders.big-blink
