My heart is breaking as I am writing this we found that the margins were not clear.  Waiting to hear back from our vet after he speaks with the oncologist.  We financially cannot afford radiation and at this point they are uncertain if chemo will even help.  There has been no timeline stated just told at this point we are just going to keep her comfortable and hopefully find something to slow down the growth of the tumor.

I just started with Essential oils and have been using Frankincense on a dog treat and then directly on her spine.  Has anyone had any luck with this treatment or are there other things we can consider?  What types of oils or holistic pain treatments are there?  Not against meds just keeping our options open.

Thanks.

Aww I'm sorry. I know it's hard but try not to panic until you get word directly from the onco. I was reviewing your posts to find the type of cancer she has but I can't find it, just that you said it's a nerve sheath tumor of some sort. Did you ever get any specifics?

Never heard of that type of therapy. Use care when trying new ones, there's a lot of pet cancer snake oil out there. Always discuss with your vet or if holistic is your route then find one who is knowledgable about it.

She has a nerve-sheath tumor on her sciatic nerve.  It is benign but is spreading along the nerve and into her spine.

Oh poor girl, I'm so sorry. Thanks for the clarification. Let us know what the onco advises.

Geez, this is frustrating to hear and I know it's disheartening.

However, once you catch your breath you can start doing some more research...especially along holostic lines. You may want to consider contacing a Holostic Vet for more options.

Dr. Charles Loops is based out of North Carolina. I've had consultations with him in the last and many, many members had had phone consults. Many feel like they got positive results. He knows his stuff!

Wondering if possibly metronomics may be beneficial, or, at the very least, Piroxicam. It nas been proven to slow down tumor growth in certain Instances.

How is Juneau doing overall? Feeling pretty good?

Remember, nothing has changed as far as Juneau is concerned! She doesn't give a rip about any ole' diagnosis. She does NOT have a timeframe stamped in her butt!

Continue to stay in the moment with Junea and let NOTHING interfere with your time together! One thi g we all learn on this journey is to savor every treasured moment snd stay in the present!

Spoiling a tripawd with steak and ice cream is a wonderful "treatment"!

Would love to see more photos of Junea and her family..her dog pal....kids...mom and dad... HINT!!
