With Ellie's fears and our tears, we brought her to the vet this morning. We recently heard that the surgery went really well-no complications and little bleeding. Now the healing begins. You are all part of our family now.

Best to all and think good thoughts for Ellie's fast recovery and long life.

Welcome to the Tripawd family… Sorry that you had to join us, but happy that you found us. Let us know Ellie's (and your) progress. We'll be here if you have any questions or concerns. Take the time while Ellie is at the Dr. to do some "sleep banking." You will need it to get through the first few nights. Remember to breathe deeply and be strong for your girl.

Glad to hear the surgery went well. Ellie is now officially a Tripawd Warrior Princess.

I hope her recovery goes well! Some dogs sail right through it; most hit a bit of a rough patch around maybe days 2 or 3 through 10 - 12. The pups just don't feel like themselves until they get all the pain meds out of their systems and get the stitches/staples out - but once you are past those humps you should see a HUGE improvement in your girl.

Like Rio's mom said, come here whenever you have any questions. We've been there and we are here for answers/support/a good laugh - whatever you need!

Sending big hugs and healing Abby kisses for Ellie,

Jackie, Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Thanks all for the good thoughts.  Soon we'll pick Ellie from the vet and take her to overnight at the animal hospital.  Just hope she doesn't think we're abandoning her there...

Glad to hear the surgery went well.  It must be hard for you to pick her up then drop her off again!  But she is probably so doped up, and some of that anesthetic will still be in her system- she probably won't remember too much.

And- it is the best thing for her and you to spend the night under professional care.  You should rest up tonight and get ready for her homecoming- when is she coming home?

I'm with everyone else.....she needs her rest tonight and so do you, Mom.  Just know we've all been there and we'll continue to be there through this journey.

That's excellent news!  Yay for Ellie!

Let us know how she is doing in the first 24 hours, okay?  Now, go and sleep while you can!  We see so many get sleep deprived and the nerves take over!

By the way - love the pic of her!

So happy to hear the surgery went well! Ellie looks like a total sweetie.

Get some rest tonight, some dogs do fine and others need more support through the recovery period.

Sending tons of good wishes to Ellie and you all!

Awwww, wonderful news!

Those last few hours before surgery are so darn emotional and frightening, but you'll be so, so amazed when you see how well she does afterward. Seeing her resiliency will be life changing, you'll see.

May her recovery be uneventful and quick. Keep us posted!

The worst and most draining part is behind you. There will be days of adjusting to a new normal ahead, but they will be harder for you than Ellie. Wishing Ellie a speedy and uneventful recovery.
