Tara - we hope that this procedure takes care of everything for Fergus, Cooper had a very similar thing happen to him after his amputation, the tissue that our vet cushioned the bone with slipped and poked a hole in the incision, it became badly infected and it also had to be surgically cleaned up and the vet at that time removed the rest of Coopers leg. The first surgery had only removed the leg about halfway up the upper leg. Because Cooper was also like a bull in a china shop and he ALWAYS fell on his incision it eventually poked the hole through. After the clean up and also the vet added a drain - Cooper healed rapidly - so paws crossed that your boy heals rapidly and gets on on with a good long happy life!
