Hi Kerren

No, I am not British, I am Portuguese but my partner is English.

I moved to the UK 20 odd years ago, then back to Portugal for 10 years, then South of France for 5 and now we are back here for the past couple of years.

Eurydice is Portuguese but her parents and grandparents are French and Italian, an international family, hey big-grin

I have lots of Canadian friends mainly from Quebec and Toronto and my daughters lived in Vancouver for a couple of years when they were young. What a beautiful place ! We love Victoria island, we couldn't believe it when a big bear crossed the road in front of us looking very, very relaxed ...

Your country is really, really beautiful Kerren!

The only struggle we had was with the weather as we went from very pleasant, hot and sunny weather to ... cooooold ... but what joy to see snow and seals live!

Sending you, Mona and Eli lots and lots of kisses and big slobber from miss cow here heart

One of the things that dealing with cancer changes is our reactions to something different.

Before the diagnosis with something odd (like sneezing!) we would say 'huh, that's weird' if we even took note at all.

After diagnosis it's more like 'OMD!, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?!?!?!?'

I don't think I shared this story with you before...

Tri-pug Maggie had mast cell cancer which usually presents as lumps you can feel.  Mag's amputation was the result of her second MCT, I had read that in dogs who have more than one MCT recurrence is very likely so I was hyper-vigilant about checking her for lumps.  More than once I found what I was sure was a new tumor on her belly only to flip her over and find that it was one of her tits!  More than once!

Karen

Tri-pug Maggie survived a 4.5 year mast cell cancer battle only to be lost to oral melanoma.

1999 to 2010

So true.   I hear Otis snoring lightly sometimes, and I sit there wondering if he snored before.   He must have, but I honestly don't remember.  It just didn't hit my radar as being important.  And, since I have two dogs - I have twice the worrying.   If I am going to worry about Otis, I have to worry about Tess too, especially since she is a year older!   It's only fair.

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

Hi Karen,

I so love Maggie's story heart and am trying to relax more now.

Problem is one doesn't know what is expected and what isn't so anything gets us wandering ...

I was worried about Eurydice's sneezing but didn't think anything bad of her licking her butt for the last week or so, I was happy to see her behaving like a dog again!

Then a couple of days ago she had some blood but as she missed her cycle this year I just thought ok, it's happening late, and didn't think much of it.

When she went for her blood tests I mentioned it to the vet en passant and he said it could be cystitis resulting of the chemo or a bladder infection because her defences are obviously not what they were before amp and chemo ... or it could be her late period.

Nothing serious in any case but see ? It didn't even dawned on me it could be something else apart from her cycle whilst the sneezing got me really worried ... aaaaargh .....

Anyway, she is doing great and her eyes tell me she is happy so I am happy too !!!

Sending you lots of kisses and cuddles heart

I can picture you monitoring Otis snoring, I wonder what he thinks, as he must be aware mommy is watching him with her eagle's eyes full on laughing in our case there would be no possible doubt as my girl has always snored like a trooper !

Yes, only fair you worry for both Otis and Tess but it must be exhausting to have "double" eagle eyes searching all the time big-blink

Hi Donna,

Couldn't find your post "what does mct look like" but I can imagine it was something as silly as Eurydice's sneezing big-grin

Thanks for the sash & crown I will keep it until somebody else deserves it better than me laughing

Cassie had a strange lump on her foot and I was absolutely convinced she must have a mast cell tumor.  I thought if I saw pictures of what the tumors looked like it would help me know for sure.  I was a hot mess!  I really needed to be pulled back from the edge of the cliff!  She had it removed & the pathology came back as an abnormal growth of normal cells (I forget the technical name for it).  Thank goodness for everyone here, because they did indeed pull me back from the edge & kept me sane big-grinheart

Sally, my butt has gotten as big as the back side of a barn. We've got to find an alternative!!!
