Just want to jump in and absolutely ditto that, while this stinks, it is in no way the end of the road for Draco, not even close!!! And I say that as a fact, not just an "emotion".
Not only is he symptom free, but those stupid xrays change NOTHING in Draco's world! !! Many, many dogs jave gotten great extenw quality time even after mets. Jerry certainly was one as well as Sassy.
Just read on a blog on here yesterday bout a dog who had a lobe removed and recoverd from the surgery very quickly! Obviously, the mets were in o e lu g and in athe spot where surgery was an option
Hang in there, do your research, and then move forward with a treatment plan...and continue with the spoiling and loving just like always!!
Love and hugs

HI Everyone,
Draco's 2 month ampuversary was yesterday 9/18/17! He's had 2 rounds of Palladia so far and have not seen signs of side effects for concern. The oncologist kept telling me to give them a call if I saw any signs of side effects, luckily none so far. His first round was Friday night 9/15/17, the day we found out the xrays showed about 10 lung mets, and last night 9/18/17. I am really hoping that the Palladia works to get more time with Draco.

Hoppy Ampuversary Draco!!! Well done big fella! Keep on trying with that Paladia you beautiful boy and keep fighting this crap disease! Tell dad not to pay any attention to those things in your lungs, you can't feel them can you Pal? I know it must be super hard, but today is a true blessing and tomorrow is a Gift!
Paul & I have decided to just go ahead with Stewie's remaining 3 sessions and to not do anymore X-rays. We figure we are doing everything we can, with the resources we have available to us. Today he goes in for his blood work, to check that we can go ahead with next weeks Chemo #4. Please Keep your fingers crossed for us, as we had a heck of a time trying to find a good vein last time.
Stewie says to please stay in touch... you're one handsomely big fella Draco and Stewie is only a week ahead of you!
Sloppy kisses from Stewie👅🐾

Hello everyone,
Time flies by! Today is Draco's 3rd month ampuversary (10/18/17)!
In other news, yesterday and today Draco has been having trouble getting up. Seems his back legs have weakened. When he does get up, he'll fumble and fall. Not all the time, other times he'll hop around fine. He's still eating and drinking. Seeing him not have control of his back legs got me really worried. I emailed Draco's oncologist and she said to pause on the Palladia. He did have his Palladia on Monday evening, by Tuesday morning he was whining, either because he couldn't get up or he needed to go potty. But Tuesday morning was the most I was worried about his back legs. I'm hoping this "flare up" with his back legs is just due to the cold weather change. Any mention of the cat and he's all perked up for it. Earlier this evening he seemed better than in the morning. Anyone have this experience, if this can be an on and off thing?

A side effect of Palladia can be lameness and difficulty moving. It may be that, as your Vet advised, that being off the Palladia for a bit clears it up.
Glad his attitude is still feisty and he's ready to go after the cat! 🙂 Thats a good sign!
HAPPY THREE MONTH AMPUVERSARY DRACO!!! 🙂 🙂 And we want many more!!!
Now, your dad didn't really do a poat without a picture ofnyoi, did he???? Surely that was a mistake!!! WE WANT DRACOMPOCTURES!!!! 🙂 🙂
Hugs

Thanks for the update! Sorry to hear about Draco's recent issues. Perhaps he is overdoing it. If problems persist after cutting back the Palladia, consider seeing a CCRT or CCRP for a professional orthopedic evaluation and rehab exercises you can do at home to keep Draco fit and strong. More conditioning tips, exercises, massage techniques and helpful stretches can be found in Loving Life On Three Legs .
Best wishes, please keep us posted!

Hi Draco and Dad 💕
How is Draco's breathing, is it laboured at times?
My girl Eurydice was on Palladia for a very short while but at some point started cortisone and diuretics for her lung mets and that gave her a second life.
Maybe you could check with your vet whether she thinks it is a good idea to repeat X-ray if his back legs problems are not related with Palladia?
From what I read from your thread so far I'm sure whichever way you go, you'll make your best to knock Natasha and Boris, the stupid mints over the head 💥💥🔨🔨🔨
Keep up the good work and give your cutie a big ear scratch 😘😘😘🐮💫✨🌟🌹
Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4 May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30 Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)
DRACO!!! How wonderful to hear from you Hoppy 3rd Monthuversary! Stewie and I are so happy to hear from you, you gorgeous boy!
im really sorry to hear that our handsome fella is having some leg troubles, I am not the person to give advice on that issue at all I’m afraid, as I haven’t had the experience. But I can send hugs and sloppy kisses and root for you 100%!
Keeping you in our thoughts

Aww, Draco! I'm glad to hear that he's not having breathing issues. Hopefully the weakness will resolve on the lower dose of Palladia (I'm not sure how long to wait). He is both adorable and tough, and despite the setbacks, you guys have a lot to celebrate together on this 3rd month ampuversary!

I loved life as a tripawd for over three years following right forelimb amputation due to an aggressive and recurrent hemangiopericytoma. I reclaimed my place among the gods and valkyries in Valhalla on November 11th, 2020. My parents miss me tremendously, but I know they'll keep me in their hearts forever... and don't worry, I've approved my mom's use of my Tripawds account.
Hello everyone, I have very sad news. Draco passed away earlier, Sunday 10/22/17 around 9:15pm. He couldn't get up or didn't want to get up in the morning and when I came home from work early in the evening. He has been breathing heavily as well. When I got home, I noticed his food bowl was still mostly full, along with his meds in it. That's the sign that told me it was time. Here are his last pictures from earlier. I'm so sad and heartbroken. I'll miss him so much!
Rest in peace my baby boy Draco! Daddy loves you! You can run pain-free now! RIP 8/2/2009 - 10/22/17
