Found a few older references to Reiki in the forums and am wondering if anyone has tried, or is currently using, this therapy. I'm reading a book on animal reiki (called Animal Reiki, if you can imagine), and it's fascinating. There is a practitioner near me but she's got all kinds of restrictions on contacting her and paying for sessions, and that's put me off.

Well, my oncologist, Dr. Marie Mullins, would practice it on me to help me relax whenever I went to see her. Like this:
I think it helped me relax and so did my people.
This book, Four Paws Five Directions talks about it I believe. I haven't read it so I can't tell you much other than this. Heck, why not give it a try? It sure can't hurt and it's nice having someone treat you so gentle like my doc did.

Okay now, this isn't the type of thing I would share with just anyone.........yeah, years ago I had a session and I CAN say I felt more relaxed......not so much pnysical as a relaxation of my spitit, my energy......not sure how to say it.....a sense of well being, a lightness..
That "feeling" seemed to stay with me for quite a whie too.
And look at Jerry above! Something is working That's one relaxed dude!
I'm open to all that stuff so I would say, heck yeah, give it a try.....for BOTH of you
Definitely son't go with the o e you mentioned. I was very "guided" to this one and felt it was right. Kind of what we've talked avout before...no coincidences.......had no i tention of stopping in this bookstore.....made a "wrong" turn...ended up in their parking lot...went in to ask directions....this gentle soul was helping somene find a book and was talking about Reiki......anyway, long story short....I started asking her some questions.....decided K wanted to try it and with no pushiness whatsoever, she told me she was certified and would be glad to see if she could assist me.
Go for it REIKI ROO ROOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Huggie hugs!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Thanks for the always-good advice to "go for it"!!! That's one mellow-looking Jerry there. I've seen the book Four Paws but haven't gotten it yet...have 3 books going now and since I tend to nod off once I'm sitting for 10 minutes, I'm not making much progress with any of them!
Will do more research.
