Just a quick question...in the past, when someone private messaged me here, I would get an email notification that I had a message waiting. Has this changed? I had a PM from 11/29 that I didnt know about until today (and I feel horrible that I missed it). Just wondering

No, nothing has changed. But one other member has reported issues with notifications not being received. This was resolved by visiting your forum profile (Edit Global Options), unchecking the box for PM email notifications for PM, then logging out and closing the browser. Upon logging back in and checking the box for notification of PMs, emails once again resumed.

We're hoping this works for you too...please feel free to send a PM after doing this and we'll reply ASAP to test that theory.

Also, FYI: The Inbox button at the top of every page will also turn white with bold red text whenever unread Private Messages are waiting for a member.

One other thing...something may have changed at the email service provider level. Such automated emails are often misidentified as spam. Please check your spam folder to see if that is the case.

So, bad news, I stopped getting emails on PMs again sad.

The only thing changed on my end (that I know of) is that I downloaded a new OS but that doesn't seem like it should matter.

I also just looked in my spam folder and it is empty.

So I did the uncheck/check thing again to see if that works- if you want to send me a PM when you have a chance I can check.

I did try sending a PM to myself to test but the system would not allow it.

Paula,

Sent you one also. I haven't gotten any PMs that I am aware of but I am getting emails for subscriptions to forum posts. Hoping it was just a glitchy night in cyberland.

I got the PM Jackie, but no email notification that there was one waiting. Also, I'm not getting email notifications for forum posts that i'm subscribed to…..HELP! I cant always be on here, but if I get an email saying there are post replies, I jump right over.

There has to be something new going on - I did the trick Admin stated above, checking and un-checking, still nothing

Well, as stated, nothing has changed here. But it is about to, in a big way, as there is a major update to our forum software now available, and WordPress 5.0 is right around the corner...

Something clearly is going on, we understand that. But troubleshooting will have to wait as we proceed with the required updates over the coming week(s). Hopefully the new codebase will address any anomalies certain users are experiencing.

Thank you all for your patience.

I will be patient, it just sucks that i'm totally cut off from posts - notification wise. I subscribed to about 10 different forum topics, and I'm not getting notified about any of them. Hoping the issue gets resolved soon - or maybe the tripawd gods are trying to tell me something...

Thanks for the updates. The current issues are clearly only affecting certain users, while not impacting functionality for others. way-confused

Until we roll out the pending updates, we won't know if they address the notification issues. In the meantime, we recommend resetting options, clearing cookies and browser cache, relaunching and logging back in.

Thanks again...we'll post updates as we proceed.

Noooo.. Paula, never ever. I tried to post two more times from my phone today and I could not get the reply button to work. I am at my desktop now and it is ok again. I have never had a problem posting from my phone before. Maybe the tripawd gods were wanting me to hush... laughinglaughing

Hi Jackie,

I did not get an email for your PM- however when I went back and checked my settings I had not re-checked the notification box oh-my.

So I'm going to respond to your PM and then check back in when you PM me back.

I also just realized that I'm not getting email notification when someone posts on Elly's blog.
