Gosh darnnit! It's happening to about 50% of my posts now! GONE. MIA. Poof. Vanished. Thin Air. Nada. Nothing.
And I keep forgetting to copy the posts before hitting the save button! UGH.
I'm changing the topic title to see if other's are having problems.

Don't know if this will help but this is the topic that my last post vanished:

Me again.
Just a thought to throw out there... Could there be a glitch if two people are posting at the same time on the same topic? That is only pattern I have seen. I'll be posting and saving and lo' and behold someone else has posted almost at the same time.

Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Please rest assured that we are doing our best to get to the bottom of the matter, and just about at our wit's end. Multiple posts writing to the same table could indeed be a possible cause, but the solution for that would be beyond our control.
Anyone new to this topic please review previous posts about providing as much detail as possible, including:
- what web browser you use
- exact time of unsaved post
- name of forum and topic, or link to last post in topic
- any errors?
- number of users online at the time
- number of users browsing topic at the time
- current ip address (paste as text or send pm)
Above all, we really need to know if these problems persist when using Firefox since that is the only recommended fix, for now.

Okay, again – dont know if this will help but this may explain why IE users are having problems and not firefox.
'parentnode is null' Line: 12
Error: 'parentNode' is null or not an object
Don't have a clue what it actually means other than the javascript cannot run properly. I did see a forum post on wordpress regarding it. But it's foreign language to me.
Here's the screenshot when I ran the debugging script feature on IE8

Uhh... any chance you can point us to that discussion? Thanks again, this may actually help.
PS: For the record, we just confirmed with Firebug that Firefox has no issues parsing all the scripts here.

Right before upgrading to 2.9.2 I installed a new plugin call "Sidebar Shortcodes". I never got a chance to do anything with it before I noticed the problems that I have been having with adding new posts, pages or anything else that is entered into the database within the wp_posts table.
I deactivated and deleted every single one of my plugins to no avail. So I knew something had written to the database and wasn't fully uninstalling whatever it had changed. I found that it was two columns within the wp_posts table called "sidebar_title" and "sidebar_content".
I removed them using phpmyAdmin by running the following in the SQL Query window.
ALTER TABLE "wp_posts" DROP column "sidebar_title";
ALTER TABLE "wp_posts" DROP column "sidebar_content";
Now everything is rockin like it's supposed to.

OK. You had us confused for a minute... thought you were saying you figured it out!
We'll check out the articles and look into this, but we're not writing to wp_posts here in the forums.

Another Suggestion (Aside from using Firefox): Try disabling the new Admin Bar from your Tripawds user profile.
Deselect "Show Admin Bar" when viewing site and in dashboard. After any changes like this, clear your cache, relaunch the browser, give it a day or so and see if it makes any difference.

New Note To Self: Member selection of preferred post editor enabled via SF Admin, Components, Editor.
Something Else to Try (If using Firefox is not an option): Select an editor other than Rich Text (TinyMCE) from the Personal Options tab in your Forums Profile. Use the Profile button at top ofthe froums, this is different than your Tripawds user Profile.
