Hello Tripawds friends!  We've been meaning to ask this question for a long time so here goes.

Would you tune into live video chats if we offered them through a source like Google or Zoom? Would this be too complicated for you? Would you enjoy something like this?

For many years we've done a Tripawd Talk Radio podcast, but perhaps it's time to expand to live video chat interviews with veterinary experts, or maybe even a once-weekly video chat among community members only. These could be made available for download later on.

We haven't gotten into this area because only recently have we acquired the bandwidth available to do so, courtesy of our "unlimited" Verizon cellular broadband plan.

Plus, we always thought it might be too complicated for most people to log-in and participate.

What do you think? We would love to hear your feedback. Thanks!

Hi Rene and Jim

I think this is a great idea! I understand the bandwidth issue big time and if I was to use this service, it would be in very short spurts. Also, the ease of getting on would also make the difference as to whether or not i would try. I mean, who doesnt want to say Hi to Sally and the rest of the gang in person! I cant say that it would be a regular thing for me, but it sure would be fun.

Plus, talking with a vet in person, is a whole lot better than trying to type ones woes!

Thanks for asking!

Have a fantastic day!

I would try it but I guess it depends on when it would occur.

EXCITING!

or maybe even a once-weekly video chat among community members only.

Only if I could wear a bag over my head

These could be made available for download later on.

Good!

Instead of bags we could wear our Tripawd's bandannas like outlaws...

I might be interested depending on the topic.  What would the community member chats be about?

Oh now.. bandannas, great idea!!!  I have no idea about a topic the first time, might be a lot of seeing what we need to do to make it work correctly? Meeting the people that we have kept in touch with and seeing how it all goes? I am sure if anybody wanted to set up a particular topic we could be wide open for ideas. Time might be a challenge also as we are in so many different places but it would be fun if we could coordinate a day and time that works for everyone.

What would the community member chats be about?

Well, we could do a couple of surveys to see what people want to discuss and to help the chats stay on topic.

Maybe do one on our experiences with recovery, another with phantom pain , another about diet. Of course ideas are always appreciated.

I think this is a really good way of thinking. As everyone is mentioning, time will be the essence and making sure that questions are answered to the best of our ability, in a timely fashion. Maybe an open question session for new members?

I don’t know how these video chats work with multiple people, so that is something I would need to understand as well? Also, when I do a video chat with my family, for example, there is a pretty big delay for us, how will this effect the group chat?

Have a great day you guys!

Maybe Frankie's mobile Rehab Bet woild be a good resource for anyone with Rehab questions in general.  In addition, insight  into how to prevent injuries for tripawds, as well as warning signs, and HOPE should an injury or surgery  happen.
