@Suzanne
i haven’t been on the site since January or February so am just now reading the news about Nicholas. I’m so so sorry. Reading about what happened made me cry. He was a survivor and his story was one of those that tracked with Ophelia’s. One that i kept up with daily for months. He was obviously a great dog. And so beautiful. He had such a wonderful life.
i saw this short video earlier today, before reading about Nicholas, that spoke to me. But it seems so relevant to this now that i feel compelled to share.
thank you for sharing Nicholas and his story with us. His perseverance and survival was a model for all of us who read about it.
Michael, such lovely words and that precious video....coohhhh myyyyy.......spot on♥️
Yes, Nicholas continues to inspire and offer hope to those starting this journey.
We all fell in love with him and so enjoyed observing the bond he and Suzanne shared with us.
Wishing the the best for you and Ophelia ♥️
Hugs

So good to hear from everyone. I loved that video, Michael, thank you.. I think both Nicky and I were very disciplined about living in the moment all those months... but I know he sensed something because one day he came up to me and put his big head in my lap and just stayed there a long time, never did that before or since. Anyway, I always told people I would grieve only after he died and it's been three long months. I keep busy.
A few days ago, I ran across a musician he'd made friends with.. He said, I'm sorry I haven't seen you since Nicky died... He was a great spirit ... and then just walked away tearing up. Well, we were fortunate to have him share almost nine years with us, every day.

A great Spirit indeed. As you cam see, Nicky touched everyone who met him.....even of some of is never met him "in person", his spirit transcended through cyber land and we all fell in love with him.
Three long months..... hard to believe. I know your heart still aches and the void is still such an empty space that can only be filled with memories now.
So glad you did have those wonderful 9 years of treasured moments. Anytime you are up for it, we would always love to see more pictures or here more about this gentle soul.
Hugs
