I just want to say one more time how special the banners are.  Admin guy does such a great job memorializing our heros. It never fails to bring a smile when I see Trouble's (of course, some days the smile is followed by a tear).  Words cannot express how honored I am that Trouble lives on in this community.

Coopers banner is awesome, a beautiful tribute. I love them all, and it makes me smile to remember so many of our pack who now live at the bridge - together, watching over us.

Thank you for starting this topic, and for the kind words.

We are frequently asked by new members what it takes to get their dog in the Tripawds header banner. After much contemplation, we have decided not to create any sort of policy that allows custom headers to be "purchased" via certain contribution levels. Nor do we wish t establish certain requirements for banner placement. Instead we plan to create banners at our discretion, as a tribute for members whose dogs have passed, if they have been active and supportive participants of this community.

Anyone who may question those banners with dogs who are still with us – Dog Bless the Queen! – these were created when we first implemented the random header images.

How's that for a "policy" regarding Tripawds banners?

Thanks again.

Sounds like a good "pawlicy" to me! big-grin

I really love the random banners...and Shanna, I always smile when I see Trouble!

I like the idea that the banners are reserved for our true Tripawd Heros.

Coopers banner does make me very happy and so very honored. Jim, I was one of those new members that almost asked hoe someone got a banner. I was about to hit the send button when it dawned on me that the pups pictured were mostly fallen heroes.. I quickly deleted my message and while do proud that my Cooper has his own special banner, I thank God that it was 9 months of wonderful extra time with my warrior before this honor was realized - thank you...

I couldn't agree more with what everyone has already said. Thank you so much Jim for honoring Fortis. I know he would be as proud as I'm humbled.

Coopers banner is tops by the way! Very well done.

Oh you guys we are getting all teary eyed!

The banners have been a topic of much discussion with my folks and they were never sure how to handle the situation. But I like the pawlicy my dad has come up with. He's the greatest!

Since someone asked about this recently, we posted a "pawlicy" update here.

Thank you everyone.  I was quite surprised and definitely humbled when I saw the banner.  It still takes my breath away every time it pops up.  He was my universe and it means the world to me that he will be remembered in such a nice way.

Lisa

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...
