We had another fun Nor Cal Tripawds meet up at the Mill Valley Dog Park.  A beautiful, sunny day with a nice cooling breeze off the bay.

I have some video but I'm not sure when I will get it posted.  There were a couple of photogs there so watch for pictures to be posted soon.

For the third time since last November we had seven tripawds playing at the park!!!

Nor Cal regulars Shelby and Cemil were there, the Oaktown pack was represented by Travis Ray and Codie Rae, Major made his second consecutive appearance, and we welcomed two first timers- Little Abby and Big Abby.

The Spirit Tripawds and their packs were out in force too- Maximutt: John, Di, Linda and the now famous Bernie bin laden, Miss Cherry: Bob and Emily,  Maggie: Tani and me.  And I can never go to Mill Valley without feeling the presence of our buddy Caira Sue.  Tazzie two's Mom Susan was so close- she is working on a project some miles south of us but couldn't get the day off to come up, so we count Spirit Tazzie as being there.  And of course Spirit Jerry- none of us would have met without him.

So that brings our count to 13 Tripawds and Spirit Tripawds- just like Gerry's at their Tripawd Party in the Midwest today.

I stole, err, I mean borrowed Gerry's idea and pledged $10 to the Community Fundraiser for each tripawd and spirit tripawd in attendance today so I will be sending my donation in as soon as my loan clears.  No big deal- Tani and I can both afford to skip a few meals oh-my.

But in all seriousness- I consider it a token compared to the information, love, support, and general sanity this site provides.

Can't wait to do it again next month!!

The meet up I mean- maybe next month I'll pledge per paw- that way I'll get a break when all the Tripawds show up big-grin.

Amen.  I couldn't agree more!!!

(Though I do wonder sometimes, if this is me sane... wow... a triple thank dog to Tripawds for making me less insane at least big-grin)

Back to seriousness once again -

It should also be noted that Tripawds has been a lifesaver for some, not just a sanity-saver.  Because most dogs love to run so much, when the thought of amputation for one's dog comes up, a person who has never been with a tripawd, especially, can imagine this is a fate worse than death.  After all if running = happiness for a dog and legs = running.  *Gasp* then amputation must be the end of the world!  Or maybe they imagine the pain won't be worth it, or all their friends and family are saying, "Don't make your dog suffer."  Well-meaning people who love their dogs as much of any of us, with all the stress of a diagnosis (whether cancer or injury) and some misconceptions thrown in, can panic or lose hope at times - too early.  Thanks to Jim, Rene and Spirit Jerry though, if they are able to take a deep breath and hop online first, they can now find Tripawds.com and be reassured that three legged dogs can run and play and be just as happy as they were on four legs.  And to top it off, they add so much useful information for caring for one's tripawd long-term and offer ways to cope in style with their tripawd gear and store.  And then there's all of us to offer support also, and we kinda rock too, if I do say so myself.

So don't forget to donate!  This site is soooooooooooooo impawtant.  (Where would we be without the Tripawd's dictionary?)

(Since you "stole" my idea Karen - lol - you don't mind me hijacking your thead to make another donation plug, right? way-cool)

Congrats on your pawty too!  Well done, Nor Cal!!!

Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.

He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.

Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
