hi everyone! im very new to this. this is my first time posting.
i have a dog named zeus. hes an anatolian shepherd, english mastiff mix. hes 6 yrs. old. and he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma to his left front leg on 8-29-08. he had a partial amp. done on 9-4-08.
hes been doing great and hes learned to adjust to life as a tripod just fine.
we first noticed the lump on his ankle area in mid- july of 08. i never suspected cancer untill the vet ruled out several things and i did my research. i came across bone cancer and right then i had a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach, i knew that was what zeus had. i didnt need a vet to tell me that. zeus had a biopsy done that confirmed cancer. he never got a chance to have the bandage removed.
its been an emotional roller coaster ride but ive met so many people that offered thier support. i had a hard time comeing up with the funds for his surgery so my friends rallied together and did a doggie bandana fundraiser. over 800 dollars was raised. so many people that didnt even know us opened thier hearts to us and i will never forget that. i was lucky to have that kind of support dureing a time when i felt hopeless. these people "dog owners" kept zeus in thier prayers everyday.
i dont know what the future holds for zeus but i can say hes been truley loved. and i hope he beats the odds. you can find his story on examiner.com.
i wish all of you luck with your tripods. i know how difficult it is to except the idea that our fur babies have to live with this injustice i call cancer.
Hi and welcome to the forum. Glad to hear Zeus is doing well and that you have a great support group around you. You will find a wealth of info from this site and people who understand and care about the good times and bad. Let me know if I can help.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Zeus is a wonder tripawd to make us all proud. And you should be proud of yourself for taking such good care of him.
Thanks for joining the discussion forums Tara!
Just make sure he takes it easy on those rocks! Or he'll end up with nubs like I got from gnawing on my old "indestructible" plastic ball ...

Hi Zeus...this is Zeus too...I'm almost 6 months post amputation - October 9 is my 6 month anniversary. I hope you enjoy your next 6 months as much as I have...I'm so happy that Mom found this website when she was struggling with her decision - I may not be alive today if she hadn't received the support and all the positive feedback regarding life as a tripawd.
You're in our thoughts and prayers - keep us posted big guy!

hello jerry!
im very proud of zeus and thank you for allowing us to be a part of this amazeing group. its nice to be able to talk with the people/dogs that have been through what zeus has. zeus gets a hold of the rocks no matter how many times i take them from him. he always finds more. he has many toys outside but for some reason, he prefers the rocks, lol!
and thank you for posting his video here for all to see.
lots of love,,

hello connie & radar!
im glad you enjoyed zeus' rock video, lol! hes a funny guy. his energy level was back to normal 2 days after surgery. hes does everything that he used to with 4 legs. sometimes he slips and falls when he runs into the kitchen. theres no carpet but he gets right back up and goes about his buisness as if nothin' happened, lol! he brings lots of joy to my life.
lots of love,
tara & zeus
Tara & Zeus,
Did you upload it to myspace first? Just trying to figure it out... I'll be going to a HikeNHowl and wanted to video it. It's a benefit for homeless dogs in the area. Buster loves to interact with other dogs .... especially other huskies. Is it better to use a my phone or my camera to film & upload?

love the videos. I ‘ll have to learn to upload one of Buster talking....
Sounds like fun, we can't wait ... we post all our videos by uploading them to our Tripawds YouTube account. You can then just copy the video's "embed video" code into the post editor (in HTML mode). Just be sure to enable embedding under your YouTube profile sharing preferences.
You can use other video sharing sites, but YouTube works best for us. (Rene had couldn't view the MySpaceTV video above on her PC.) Hope this helps ...
