Idk why I got chosen to go through such a rough time. Hopefully there is something great on the other end of this. And I can't wait for it to happen!

Im sorry Brandy was still dragging last night. If things do not improve soon ,and you can find the money to make it happen I would also look for another opinion. I know money is always an issue and this entire process like it or not revolves around that mighty dollar.

We borrowed money for Purrkins surgery and we all know how expensive everything is . Its the worst when our loved ones are sick or in need and it revolves around finances.

You have to go to that specific vet for them to pay? If you like them and you feel confident in what they are doing then and believe she is in good hands. We will zip our lips;)  We truly just want to see Brandy get better and recovering just like you do, all the suggestions and advice we all offer are to try to help nothing more.

Im glad to hear she is eating and do whatever it takes, she wants Mom to hold her bowl to eat then I'd be happy to hold the bowl or whatever. She's a trooper dragging herself to the litter box. I would just leave it close to her until she has has a good couple of weeks and regains some strength .

She's a little fighter and so are you, I think in life in general we all ask our things that question. Why we are chosen or why our animal is chosen. We may never know those answers and someday we may. Life is full of lessons good and bad and we learn as we go again like it or not.
It is rough ride a lot of the times! We pull all our support team together and pray our hearts out, we do whatever we can to keep us going. Try to focus like you have been on getting out of this very tough time! You are doing great and staying strong for her so keep that up! That helps Brandy when you are emitting that positive energy!

You have had one thing after another and I would be weary and tired as well. Stressed beyond belief. But you are stronger then you give yourself credit for 😉

Hoping today is a better day! Keep us posted! Your never alone in this!

Your vet is right on, cats should not lose weight too quickly. Does the brand of cat food that Brandy likes have a kitten line? Kitten food has higher protein and fat content to help kittens grow.

As for the rear leg... Since Brandy is a bit heavier the rear leg might not have built up enough muscle yet to carry her. Perhaps stretching and strengthening exercises may help.

I hope today is a better day. Brandy has gone through a rough time.

Well crap. 1 step forward. 3 steps back.

Brandy has a check up on Monday for her incision from when they debried her dead skin patches.

But I can't wait til Monday. I have to go back to the vet tomorrow morning. She still has an infection that is still spreading even though she is on an antibiotic med and has an antibiotic cream.

And you can see inside of her incision. Like everything underneath.

They left a small area open towards the end of her incision (from the debrying) but the rest of her incision is starting to open up and almost disintegrate her skin in some parts.

Ugh. We can't win.

I want to get past this already!

Grrrr....this is just wrong!!! I know how exasperated I feel reading this, so I can only imagine how you must feel!

Just a thought...have them do a culture to make sure the infection isn't MRSA .

Getting through all these ups and downs is sooooo frustrating!

You're very astute in noticing any possible hurdles for sweet Brandy and addressing them right away! I'm just sot sorry you are having to deal with these TEMPORARY setbacks...and they ARE TEMPORARY!!

Update tome when you get back from the Vet.

Lots and lots of hugs!!

Well, miss thang was banging at her door because she was wanting to get out again. She crawled all the way to the door.

I couldn't stop her from crawling to the door and to stop banging on the door, so I decided to join her in her room for the night.

I'm sleeping on the floor with her curled up next to me. And she is just purring away! ♡

GoodNight All. ♡ 🙂

This reminded me of another cat who wasn't healing well and had lots of scabs the cat scratched and they bled. Here was the posting with the solution:

"I discovered that I actually have a vet that utilizes both acupuncture and Chinese herbs located about two miles up the road from my new house, so I was very excited and made an appointment yesterday to bring Jerry in and discuss whether he'd be a good candidate for acupuncture. She examined him for a long time and ended up taking a sample of his scabs and looking at it under a microscope. Came back as a raging yeast infection with some other bacteria (I didn't catch what kind). So....she said to stop using the Gabapentin and gave him a Convenia injection and also a bottle of TrizCHLOR 4HC spray to spray on his open scabs twice per day. He then is to get Miconazole cream on them once the spray dries. We went yesterday morning so so far he has had three sprays and administrations of cream and he is still itching the crud out of them.

This vet was very nice and I appreciate her taking the time to investigate other potential causes of his constant itching and scratching. I need to take him back in 12 days for a recheck. I am praying this is the solution he needs and that it is just an infection and clears up soon. I am very very stressed about it at this point!

Hattie & Jerry"

The original vet did not catch this. I hope your vet gets Brandy on the right medication.

So. Went to the vet with Brandy this morning.

Her temp is 102.5°F. So it has gone down again. It seems her infection has gone down.

But, she still is having dying skin. Which is kind of spreading. (Not any underlying thing, just her skin is still dying because of the extent of her surgery.)

She does not have any skin eating disease nor an allergic reaction to the antibiotic cream.

She did get a new antibiotic med though.

Brandy's back leg is still not working. It's still cold.

The vet told me that she may have a partial blood clot. Also, she needs to lay on her left side more because laying mainly on her right leg is not allowing blood flow as well. (Like if your hand or leg fell asleep.) Also, I need to move her leg like if she is riding a bicycle to get the blood flowing.

Brandy still has some feeling in her leg, but she didn't react as well as the vet would like. The vet had to really pinch her foot to get Brandy to react any. Most cats react as soon as you touch their foot.

But her laying on her left side and me doing the bicycle movement on her should help a lot.

Brandy did eat and drink as soon as we came home though. So that's good. 🙂

Also, Brandy got a steroid med added to her list of meds on Thursday.

Just a small dosage though. Just enough to boost her.

And she is still going potty too. 🙂

Just shaking my head and saying "Goodness gracious Brandy! You are somethin' else!!"

AllI can say is none of this seems to be upsetting to Brandy! If she wants to go somewhere, she just decides crawling works just fine! What an amazing kitty!!

Hoping the massage and "bicycling" helps!

Continuing to cheer for Brandy! And you too!!!!!!

Love a d hugs!

Oh my god, what a nightmare 🙁 I'm so sorry you and Brandy are going through this. All I can say is you are a superhero, and your cat is a serious trooper with a great attitude. I would be a bloody mess. Good for you for sleeping with your girl. I really think they derive comfort from that closeness with their humans (when they want it:P). Hopefully you have a blow up mattress or a foamie or something in case you end up doing that again?

Keep keeping those spirits up. You are doing a great job.
