Today is Kasey's one year ampuversary since she had her right front leg amputated last February. In January of 2014 she was diagnosed with a mass cell tumor in her right front leg and shoulder. She is a 12 year old Beagle (will be 13 on February 12th) and she is doing great! She has adjusted to life on three legs and hasn't let it slowed her down. Since Kasey had her leg amputated she was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease and broker her toe on her only remaining front leg. It seems though no matter what happens, Kasey just keeps hopping right along. I know I do not get on here often, but this group has been wonderful! Many people here were very supportive before, during, and after her amputation. Then when Kasey broke her toe I found many words of encouragement from this group!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Her toe healed just fine. The laser treatment went well and she has no issues! Thanks everyone for your kind words. Kasey and I both had one heck of a year last year, we hope this year is better!
