So sorry to hear the news about Bruno. Hang in there.
Make the most of the time you have. Take lots of pictures.
Sending pawsitive thoughts out to you,
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Oh Bruno! I'm so sorry about the news you got. Love him and love him some more. I know the oxy is really strong and hopefully it really helps his pain. I will be thinking about you and your pup. Enjoy every minute and give him a hug and belly rub for me.

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

This is the worst part of opening your heart to a dog. You are making the unselfish and loving decision that Bruno should not have to endure for your sake, but it sucks nevertheless. When you can, come back and share more about handsome Bruno. You will be in the thoughts and prayers of many today. I'm sending one more belly rub to Bruno.

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

I am terribly sorry about Bruno not being able to have the amputation and that his pain has come to the worst. I know how hard this part is. I really wish that you were able to have more time with him. You gave him a wonderful life and now you can give him a wonderful afterlife by setting him free from his pain. Praying for your strength as you go through this very difficult time.
I am so sorry, you are giving Bruno a last, unselfish gift.
Your journey with us here has been short, but every pup and pack who come here becomes part of our family. I know how hard this day is. I hope the knowledge that you did your very best for him brings you strength today, and peace in the days to come.

I am so sorry to hear of your heartbreaking loss of Bruno. It just isn't fair. But you wrote the last chapter of Bruno's adventure here on earth. Your unselfish love released him from his pain and made his spirit whole again. You are truly honored here. And Bruno was and is still a hero, even if he wasn't technically a tripawd.
Now take time to grieve and start healing. I wish you much peace and many happy memories of your handsome boy.

I'm so sorry. It's so hard. I hope you know you are doing a wonderful thing for him. You loved him and tried everything possible. I'm just so sorry there wasn't any options.
May you find peace. We'll be thinking of you.

This forum is the best! You guys really know how to support families battling cancer. I will post more later. If I can help someone in my position who may be luring looking for answers, my advice is
1-read, ask questions, and read some more
2-cancer only gets bad, decide quickly what route is best for your family(i wish I knew for sure earlier that he was not a candidate for amputation, I would've explored radiation-pain meds only gave me 43 days)
3-once you decide what route is best, stay the course and start spoiling within reason.(i limited Bruno's caloric consumption in order to keep weight down for surgery)
We love our guy and miss him very much! Stay tuned for pics and final thoughts.
Note to self, tears are never ending(i thought I'd run out of tears by now)-avoid contacts because they get grey and blurry.
