WHEEE!!! Another visit in the books, and she handled like such a pro! smiley_clap

Those Doggie TV windows just slay me! I love 'em, wish every clinic would install those. I'll bet it cuts down on stress, barking, and worry for dogs to see what's going on out there. One of the new Fear Free design methods for animal shelters is to build dog kennels in a circular fashion, so that dogs can see the world outside. Apparently it helps to reduce stress which makes total sense. I'll bet the Doggie TV windows are part of that same concept. You know you're in a forward-thinking clinic when you see something like that.

The oncologist hadn’t seen much need to refer her amputation patients to a rehab specialist after surgery especially if like Juno, they had been generally getting around pretty well.

LOVE LOVE LOVE that you and Juno were able to share so much about the benefits of rehab! And to mention our rehab reimbursement program too? BONUS! THANK YOU! It goes to show you that even a brilliant oncologist like yours can't always be up on every aspect of vet med, so when they learn something like this through clients it benefits everyone. I would love to send her some of our information, can you message me her contact info if you think it would be OK?

she said she often sends folks who are on the fence about amputation to Tripawds

That is the highest complement we can ever receive. Thanks for making my day smiley4

@jerry - interesting about the Fear Free design. I looked them up and they’re not currently listed as a fear free practice, but perhaps they have implemented some parts? ...or are working toward accreditation? Also some folks have mentioned that they were recently bought out by a larger chain, so perhaps the old owner or new chain chose things like the doggo tvs? Hard to say…

They do have some plaques on the wall with their best practices in the way they treat their clients (both furry and not), and they do seem to stick by them. I should take photos of them to post here when we’re back there in three weeks.

Yes - will pm you with the deets I have so you can reach out.

Re: amputation fence sitters - yes, that was really cool to hear. Job well done, Jerry G. Dawg and crew! smiley_clapsmiley_clapsmiley_clap

WOW!   I have missed so much while my tavlet  was in tavlet hospital.  I finally got to catch up tonight on Juno’s delightful, informative, fun, inspirational, witty, posts!!

While I enjoyed reading through everything thing, THE most delightful part was getting to see these wonderful videos and pictures of Juno.  I loved every single one of them.  She is such a unique looking girl who seems to display a lot of sass in some of those video.  I do believe she knows how to ham it up for the camera.  Juno is a Tripawd RockStar on so many levels!  I’m so in love with her❤️

 More pics please!

You are so good at research, Natalie!

We would love to see those photos if you remember next time you're there. Sounds like a great clinic and team. Lucky dawg!

Sally - so glad you enjoyed Juno’s story! She’s actually rather hard to photograph because she’s not keen on the camera, but she is most herself during times like the video where she’s super focused on what she’s doing.

Her sass really comes out during “mouth noise time” - which best we can tell is just her insistence on joining the conversation from time to time, especially after dinner. (She has that full hound range of noises and volumes, including a deep, resonant bark that sounds like she stole it off a dog three times her size.) She’s also very clear with us when we are slow on or miss part of her daily schedule - a training session, a walk, a puzzle toy. She loves her schedule and will hold us to it!!

@jerry - will make an effort to get those photos!

---

In the meantime, an encore photo as requested, this one especially for the hometown crowd! I had a hard time getting a non-blurry photo of her in it as she was super active today. Asleep seemed like the best approach for now! We plan to put in on her for all her coming vet visits - some irresistibly cute advertising! 😉

Irresistible cute advertising for sure!
Juno is absolutely fetching in her Tripawd Ambassador scarf😎

Boy oh boy can I relate the mouth noise time of the Hound,  You described it perfectly.  Yes, they insist on what they want when they want it by mouthing off non stop until we comply

So in Love with this Hound Juno 💕💕

*Big sigh of relief.*

Our bestest girl had a clean chest X-ray today, followed by her last of six chemo treatments. Wow. Wheew. 😅🥳

We continue the follow-up tests for the Yale vaccine study, but from here on out, fewer visits! That said, she’s been an absolute champ and has taken the experience in style and better than even I might have guessed at the outset.

Just a super resilient critter. Go June!

Weeelllll!!!! Happy (belated) Birthday, @admin!!!!! And thanks for all you do around here for the sake of tripawds everywhere!! 🎂🍰🎈🎉

Happy to share the Junifurous triumph over here!!

Time to get busy showing the world what Tripawds are made of.

And here she is doing just that a few days before her last chemo… And wearing her shiny new Ruffwear Webmaster from the Tripawds Gear Shop. (We call it the June Handle.)

We kept it appropriately short, and all of her awesome rehab skills were on show across the rugged terrain.

WOW!!!     YAAAAAY  AND   MORE  WOW!!

How The heck did I miss this great update and absolutely delightful pictures? Honest to goodness I’ve looked at them probably three or four times at least before I started to type.  It  brings me so much joy to see-this sweet girl.
Love how she’s giving you the side out in one of the photos above where she’s wearing a pretty bandanna. She is a very smug confident gal.

Seeing her spam so strong and tall….

Such a good posture, such a good form… She just looks wonderful!   Go on I love everything about her, her cheekiness, her coloring, her happy demeanor and, most of all I love the bond you to share.❤️❤️❤️

Hugs

PS…. Rene, your dancing Husky is priceless😂

Awww Sally!! Thank you sooo much! You definitely bring your own party with you wherever you go! 🎉🎉🎉

Yes! Yes! Yes! We are so happy for our girl (and ourselves) with this good news!

She’s always had great posture and if she were a purebred she would have had a naturally great “stack” or stance for confirmation as a show dog. …now a bit modified as a tripawd, but still gorgeous.sp_hearticon2

Truth be told she can go from a beautiful stance with loads of gusto to deflated melancholy in 2 sec flat (and we have the pics to prove it!) We’ve often joked that Juno has the full emotional dynamic range and isn’t afraid to use it (all in a single hour if necessary)!! smiley2 She’s an original.
