Connie - Jake looks amazing! His tail is wagging non-stop and he is so fast running in the snow! It makes me incredibly happy to see him doing so well and I know he will be an inspiration to other Tripawd families. Griffin was an only child, so I have no advice about the resource guarding, but I'm sure others will chime in with suggestions. Please do keep posting regularly to share Jake with us - it makes my heart smile!
Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com
OH YAY! Love love love seeing that hoppy boy out in the snow. He looks thrilled about all the white stuff! I can't believe that it's almost 10 months since you joined us. He is a super star!
That's an interesting question about the food puzzles. I would ask that in a separate post in Anything Goes. Folks with multiple dogs are more equipped to help with that subject you than I am.
Thanks for listening to Stacy and stopping by. We've missed you!

YES!! LOOK AT JAKE GO!!! Seeing Jake be soooo happy is why we do what we do!!
And please, please to everyone who may be hesitant, we MUST have these great moments to celebrate....even when we are in the midst of grieving for our beloved family members who have transitioned to the other side of this life. Every tripawd who has anything shared to celebrate, whether it be a versary, a romp in the snow, or the first back scritch as a tripawd, is a way of honoring those before!
Videos like this give us a reason to smile and rejoice, and goodness knows we need that! 😊 I know when my Happy Hannah crossed over, I wanted nothing more than to have reasons like this to celebrate and smile at every spectacular moment with my tripawd family. We are ALWAYS Tripawd Family and we grieve hard for each other and we play and laugh and celebrate every Happy moment with our dogs and cats.
So thank you for posting this and for .listening to Stacy!! And yes, more!!!
Hugs

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Oh yeah, sometimes I've had dogs give a little warning growl to say "that's mine", even of they really don want it. Depending on who is doing what and why, I may pick up the food to remind them all that it's "mine" and remove it for a few minutes and then share.

Thanks everyone. I'm so glad Jake can put a smile on your face. He is a very good boy and he teaches me to Be More Dog
It is Jake’s 11 month ampuversary and here is a video to show you Jakes version of “ Be More Dog
”! Go chase your girlfriend silly😂. I’m so happy to be able to post this. He’s doing great.
I find that rather than long, long walks, for Jake it’s better to get to a destination then play a bunch then he’ll get in his carriage to come home. By then he’s tired. That works for us. When I’m working on the property he digs and chases squirrels, etc. So it’s all good and he seems very content.
Thanks everyone again for all of your help and encouragement. I started a blog for Jake and it’s going a little slow but it’s getting there. I wanted to start at the beginning then add posts as time passes.
OOOOOMMMMMDDDDDD!!! COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY BY THAT VIDEO!!!
Jakr is clearly an Olympian Marathon Athlete!!! The speed and balance jist astound me!!!! And jumping g over the creek without missing a beat...WOW!!!! I do have to say, I was holding my breath a bit worrying about him slipping in the snow, but he handled it!
I like your idea of getting him to the destination so he has energy to play and have fun. Vy then he welcomes the carriage ride home and is ready for a nice nap.
JERRY will see this and I'm sure she'll want to out it in the tripawd video gallery. Anyo e who jas concerns about how well their dog can do on three....take a look at JAKE!!! Truly loving life on three!!
Thanks so mich for sharing this. Made my day!!! These two are having a blast and that's what it's all abput😁😎

Connie - Jake looks amazing and so happy in that video! His speed is really something else! I remember how rough Jake's initial recovery was, but it was all worth it for the fantastic life that he is living. You are a truly special mama and Jake is so very lucky to have you. Sending you both lots of hugs and love! Stacy

Oh my goodness - took me a bit to figure out which dog is running on three legs!! That is absolutely amazing for him to keep running at that pace for such a long time - just wow. His girl is definitely keeping him active and happy. Awesome to see, just awesome - they are blessed with such a great life with you!
And I love the little one just standing there waiting for them
Happy Ampuversary Jake!!
Wow that last video is awesome! He hardly seems like a tripawd.
I hope Sadie can be like that one day but I don't want to rush her. I let her run around too early and she was doing good but hurt back leg. She seems to be recovering well but I am going back to short leash walks and strength training. When did you feel comfortable letting him run off leash?
Here is one more that I thought was funny and wanted to share! Note how the other dog could have ripped that stick right from Jake but he was so kind and gentle with Jake! Another reason animals are so awesome.
I think I’ll just post on Jake’s blog for now on and will try to check in on the forums when I can.
Once again, thanks everyone so much for all of your help and support, and Jake thanks you too!
Just. PAWESOME!!! WOW! I can't even believe it's been an entire year but here it is and Jake looks incredible! He's fit and hoppy and will certainly log that entire forest in no time at all! 😉 And he's quite the ladies man too!
I'm thrilled for you guys, this is such a huge milestone. Did you ever think you would get here?
He's got a fantastic summer ahead, I'm looking forward to more fun videos of him romping around the woods.
