We weren't looking for a dog to rescue when we found Rex in the middle of the street in our neighborhood back on August 5. We already have a dog that we rescued three years ago. However, I guess you could say compassion (or blissful ignorance) won. It has been amazing to see him calm down and grow to be a very fun loving, energetic pup. Even our boarder we put him with for a week while we traveled recently couldn't say enough wonderful things about him. I have to be honest, it has been frustrating in our efforts to find a rescue that would take him, only because every response has been "we are full". I felt like I had to put my sales hat back on and make a diligent effort to "prospect" all the rescue operations in our DFW area.
Rex reminds me of Tiger in Winnie the Pooh. He hops most all the time but can run like a fullback too. At night we keep him in our guest bathroom and most nights he whines and cries but we don't want to mix him with our other dog. He is hungry most all the time. He has become more playful and we are sure he will make a wonderful pet. He will need some training but is potty trained.
We would be grateful (and so would Rex) if someone is willing to bring him into their home.

Bill,
Thank you for updating us about Rex. I see your blog post here, good job on the photos!
Yes, it's really awful right now what is happening in the shelter and rescue world. The problem is too many people are returning dogs because they can't afford them, and not enough folks who can afford them are stepping up to foster and adopt. I volunteer for a rescue and have to turn people away daily, it breaks my heart.
Thank you for giving Rex a temporary reprieve and safe place. I know you really want to see him find that perfect home, and we are doing our best to get the word out. Keep trying, and don't forget to look in neighboring states too. The timing will work out, I know it.
Meanwhile, I hope you don't mind but I hid your email and took your phone # out here. It's really for safety and security. We get spammers all the time here and dog knows what they can do with your personal info. I see you put it in your blog and didn't touch that, but I really advise you to take it out. I am happy to facilitate an introduction if someone is interested (oops, I mean WHEN!).
Paws crossed that Rex's perfect family will come your way. Keep us posted.
