Anyone else have a pacer and remember how long it lasted? I'm guessing it from the meds plus anxiety. Hopeful that when we are off a few of these in a week or two, that will get better. We are very blessed in many ways...she stands, walks, eats, pees, and poops independently. You all are teaching me so much! Every time I open this page, I feel like a get a hug from a friend. I hang on your every word. Thank you for being here for us newbies! Oh, and how do I change my avatar?

I had a pacer!!!! I finally locked her out of my room and turned on some calming music and drugged myself. Her vets assured me she would be fine and she was. She had a small area (small apt) and she DID rest. It was about 2 weeks but it got better ... once you're off the meds, you will see improvements!

SO happy that Zoey is eating ,pooping and standing and walking!!! YAY!!!! clapclapclapclapclap

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

YAY FOR POOPING, PEEING, EATING AND DRINKING!!!clap

Yeah, call your vet, see if he'll give YOU some doggy valium and drug yourself like Alison! LOL!clap

My Happy Hannah was very restless and just could not seem to get comfortable for days! I ate chocolate, lots and lots of chocolate!!

Some dogs are used to sleeping more on one side than the other and used to circling one way more than the other when making their"nest". Depending on which leg was amputated their routine of laying and sitting can get pretty messednp up. Plus, rather than turning over and switching sides while laying down, they get up and walk around first to do that. My Happy Hannah took FIVE WEEKS before she laid onnher amp. side.

Be sure and give Zoey lots of good body scratches and ear scratches as it's hard for her to do that herself now.

Okay....time for another group hug......are you ready? Here we go!!!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

So happy that Zoey is showing an improvement.  My Leland wasn't a pacer but I was helping him with a belly sling to stand, pee, and poop (he was a hind leg amp) until the staples came out which was 14 days post amp.  That Zoey is doing all this on her own without assistance is a big accomplishment!!

Like others have mentioned the pacing may settle down once she comes off the meds.  I do think they can affect our furbaby's behavior and make them feel a little wonky...ugh

Hang in there you and Zoey are doing great!
