Wow... already pooped?! Huck took a dang week.

I know you know what you need to do.  Even if taking care of yourself is 10 minutes of meditation, just do it.  Laugh at me... mine was a nice hot shower,  shaved my legs,  put comfy fresh tshirt and sweat pants on while playing music that i enjoyed.  Sometimes it's the little things.

Hugs❤❤❤

Rarely do I go back and correct typos....but I have to go back and correct dummy-dumb.  I meant to refer to you as an. EXPERIENCED  expert, and the newbies as novices.

And YAY FOR POOP!!!!!  Glad he's resting well.  Two large tripawds in your household......what a crazy time!  Four legged dogs are gonna  start looking real weird  to you now!!

I'm doing my best to care for myself as well.

Just wanted to give a quick Czar update. He did well last night. He took his meds today, but is refusing kibble. I'll grind some up later and see if maybe some gravy will tempt him. He actually hopped up on the couch himself. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family sp_hearticon2 Glad he had a good night. I hope you guys have a peaceful and relaxing day. Maybe some turkey added to the kibble will get his belly rumbling!

It's a ham this year, so that should make him happy. He's been sleeping all day, which is good. He's definitely a bit more sore, so we'll keep an eye on him.

Sounds like they are doing well....Nitro wouldn't eat for over a week! Nothing I tried worked. Good luck, and hoppy Thanksgiving to you all

And the pics are great!  Czar looks unbelievably  comfortable  considering  his surgery was just a couple of days ago.

Of course, Riot looks as handsome as ever!

I forgot to say I’m sorry you are dealing with health issues too. What timing! Yikes! Well maybe in some weird way the universe is trying to distract you from your own worries about your health, by having you care for Czar now. I hope you feel better soon.

How did dinner go tonight? Did he eat?

Riot didn't really eat for two months. He had to be on Entyce for quite a while after it went on so long. No problems like that with Czar. With meatballs and cheese, he's taking his meds. He did eat dinner. I mixed his food with a bit of ham and mashed potatoes. He can independently go up and down the porch steps now. I have a sling under him in case he slips, but it doesn't touch him. He's drinking fine, and no bathroom problems at all. He does desperately want his incision, so a shirt doesn't work for him. One more week in the cone. His stitches are internal, so no removal needed. Honestly, he's doing really well. Thank you all for keeping up with us.

My health problems are chronic, so I've had them my whole life. I just haven't been able to manage them as well these last 6 months.

So glad to hear Czar is doing so well! It sounds like he is trying to show his brother up in the recovery department, haha! And of course, having been through this once already, your calm is just amazing. I can "hear it in your voice" as you post updates about his recovery. Some of that stress of not knowing what to expect, the fear of how your furbaby will do is just not nearly as intense as you have handsome Riot who is doing so well after much more complicated nursing, concerns over the lack of appetite and dosing Entyce every so many days when his lack of appetite pushed the boundaries.

Czar sounds very determined to rock this recovery and get on with his new life. Watching out for his incision sounds like the biggest hurdle right now, and you know the importance of keeping that cone handy to make sure he doesn't earn an additional visit to the vet.

Your sleepy boys look great, I hope you are able to get some rest also. I know you are not totally out of the woods yet but so far so good. Another week to go and I think you are going to see that light at the end of the tunnel much faster with Czar. We are routing for you guys!

Big hugs,

Jackie and Huck sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2

Could look at pictures of these two all day long.  They have definitely  mastered the art of Zen😊     And it appears you have too!

Hope you can get your health  issues back to a more stable condition. Cannot imagine the stress you've  been under recently  and it has to feel like it will last furever. I also know you are doing a coirageuously stellar job of keeping it. all together for Riot and Czar❤❤

Czar really is rocking this surgery. Hard to believe it was only 3 1/2 days ago. He's been a bit more uncomfortable today, but the local is fully gone, so I'm not surprised. Yes, we're being vigilant with the cone. Riot didn't need it much, so that's just one of many differences. It's also a huge incision. Its 2 feet long.

It's been a mostly zen day. I'm hoping my doctor can help next week. It's nothing emergent, but I have to be able to push through another 5 rounds of chemo for Czar.

Czar does indeed look quite proud of himself!😎   A dog just will not  be denied lounging  on their couch! It's really nice that they let us share a small corner of it with them😉

You certainly  are getting a first hand view of proof that every recovery is different!  At least Czar's recovery seems to be a little bit smoother than Riot.  Not saying it's easy by any means, just a few less challenges.  So glad he's eating and ownng the couch!!!

Geez, that sounds like a heck of an incsision.  .  Yep, every surgery is different too.

Yeah, sounds like he's having a little bit of the three day crash that comes when the strong hospital meds are all out of his system.

I keep scrolling back up to look at Czar's pocture.  I do he's smiling😊

Hugs and take care!❤

That boy is just so good lookin! I see that hoppy look in his eyes and he looks terrific for a brand new Tripawd. I’m so glad that his eating is going well, I remember how hard you had it with Riot and I felt so bad for you. So although it sucks going through this again, at least you know for certain that recovery is easier this time around. Having a basis for comparison has its upside.

I’m always surprised when a new Tripawd doesn’t need a cone of shame and can get away with a t-shirt! Even our gentle Jerry needed one during recovery.

Health challenges or not, you are doing sooo good with caring for your fur kids! Great job!
