Thank you all! I needed to step away for a bit. I'm so tired of the cancer battle. It's been a very rough year. At least Czar is doing well. Here are some pictures.
There he is!!! THERE HE IS!!! MR. HANDSOME HIMSELF!!
Riot is definitely striking a pose in his fine swimming bandanna that matches the color of his pool. His colors for sure!
So was it the influence of the puppoies that made him decide he liked the pool?? How 'bout the puppers, do they like it? Any videos?
And yes, the puppy in the background really is growing leaps and bounds. What do they do that makes yoh laugh the hardest...either individually or collectively? Does Czar ever give them a little growl when they get on his nerves? Surely they've gotten on his nerves once or twice.😉
And we understand taking a break. You never, ever have to ''splain that to this crew, okay? You especially have had such a rough year on so many levels. I'm sooooo glad Riot sent you the puppies though. I know that has helped you find laughter again. And to know Czar is hapoy and enjoying hi self makes us all estatic!!
Extra hugs

I can't think of a better way to start my day than to see Czar and the boys romping around making the most of summer! They ARE almost the same size as Mr. King of the Pack and growing so fast. That photo of Czar in the kiddie pool is priceless. May I share it in our photo gallery? I love the way he looks like he's staking his claim, as if saying "This is MY pool, kids!"
We totally understand about taking a break, this year has been so hard on you guys. What a joy to see Czar carrying on and rockin' the life, showing the boys what it's all about and telling cancer who's boss. YEAH!

Sure! You can share Czar. We're 7 months post amputation as of the 22nd.
Yes, Czar puts the puppies in their place. He prefers they hang out from a distance. I have a bunch of photos and videos on their instagram. Shilohshepherdbrothersandurilandinigo. They make me laugh a lot. I prefer watching them together, because I've never had dogs that were so bonded.
We can't wait for that next ampuversary, lucky #7!
Yeah it must be so fun to watch siblings figure out the world. I'll bet Czar is getting a kick out of it too.

Czar had his monthly xrays today. Unfortunately he's had some growth. The oncologist made sure to mention that is was minimal. The real problem right now is that he's been anemic for two months. He's lost more weight, and is no longer tolerating the Palladia. While the doctor believes it has slowed the spread, he is at risk of a serious internal bleed if we don't stop it. We will stay on the other meds, and add a new one called RV1001. It's an immune booster, that will hopefully help his body keep the cancer cells down. Side effects are unlikely, but there hasn't been a lot of research on this combo, so we'll see. He's made it almost three months since the spread was first noted. He's technically beaten the odds. I just wish he'd gotten longer with being stable. I'm hoping he'll start eating normally again, and maybe get a bit more energy now that he won't be anemic anymore. It's only been a week over 7 months since amputation.
Ok first...
HOPPY SEVEN MONTH AMPUVERSARY CZAR! Got any pics? We need our Czar fix! It's so pawsome that you have been doing so well. Cheers to YOU and here's to many, many more ampuversaries.
I am sorry to hear about the growth, I know it's a blow. This is the time to focus on that one word though: minimal, right?! And there is a good chance that the new drug combo can put him back into a stable disease status, so let's all keep our paws and fingers crossed. I looked it up and found this interesting paper about RV1001 in dogs. That's a new one to me, looks like it's been studied in lymphoma dogs. I like that your oncologist is so willing to explore different paths to keep him healthy and strong. What a great vet.
Give Czar extra smooches from us, and know that we are doing a little hoppy dance of pawsitivity and love for your very special boy.

Your Oncologisi is the kind we all want as an advocate for our dogs. It IS important that he stressed MINIMAL and it IS important that he is offering an alternative to Palladia. He really is on top of things.
And yes, it certainly makes sense that the anemia has interfered with his eating, etc.
You know we are all pulling for Czar to continue to be Czar and to continue to show those pups to respect their elders! He is such a special boy and we love him.....and you!❤
