Oh no, not YOUR driving, Jack! I imagine it's just such a great big world to those girls that everything feels kinda overwhelming. It's terrific they have one another to lean on and find the confidence they need to go into public spaces. Weird about the leash walking, in that they both do it. Maybe Dusty can show them how it's done?
Blossom sounds like a diva in the making!
Congratulations. I am a little late to the party but this is a great surprise. I can't wait to see what both the girls have in store for you <3 <3 <3
More than likely she will grow out of the car sickness. Jasmine used to always get sick when she was younger (like puppy age) she out grew it. She is almost 10 now lol.

We start training with "The Girls" Wednesday evening. "The Girls" aren't into walking on a leash. So we went to the park with collars and leashes on to practice having control over them when we walk or are at any social occasion.
Here's how it's going.
Here's second try.
Here's our third try.
Looks like we have a long way to go. Maybe we can do something for extra credit!
Hahahagrest "action" pictures.😉 They are so cute as they thoroughly enjoy their own version of leash training.
Good luck.......you'll need it!

Today is Blossom's 6 month birthday! To start the festivities', we took her to the town square in downtown Santa Rosa last evening. They were having a Crafts Fair, music and all kinds of stuff going on.
In our training class, she seems more interested in what Daisy and the other dogs were doing versus what she should be doing. We figured more socializing would help.
We parked about a half blook away and off we went. She hippity hopped her way down 3rd street to the square. We grabbed a bench in the shade and Cindi was off looking at the crafts. Wasn't a minute later when a young man sat down beside her and asked if he could pet her. She was relaxed and enjoying it. He stayed about 15 minutes.
Moving on to another bench, Blossom sat on the ground. A lady came up, hovering over her, reached down to pet her. Blossum wanted no part of it. We just learned she's not comfortable with someone hovering over her.
She was hopping along just fine, lot's folks oohing and smiling at her. We were careful about how far we were moving, making sure we didn't tire her out.
Time to go. We were there for an hour and 15 minutes. She relaxed enough to lay down every time we stopped. We learned she fine being petted, if she's not being hovered over. She made some new friends and getting better about riding in the pickup and not throwing up!
She took a long nap when we got home. We were so happy with the whole outing, she did just great!
Happy 7-month birfday to Miss Boss'em Blossom!
Can't believe how much she's grown! Her true love in life is to constantly, literally, get into Dusty's face, he's growling and carrying on, she's on her back legs growling and chewing on his face, we love it!
For a long time she had the attention span of a gnat. She's getting better about it, now it's about 2 to 3 seconds. She still does things in "Blossum Time". She hears what you want her to do, but she'll get around to when she's good and ready.
We took her celebration the Chic-Fil-A! We had chicken samich, chicken nuggets and Nilla Ice Cream! Enjoy!
HAPPY SEVEN MONTH BIRTHDAY BLOSSOM!!!
Hahaha..love that she now has the attention span longer than a gnat! She's worked up to 2 to 3 seconds! Progress!!.
Saw your previous post where she is really relaxing and enjoying atte tion from strangers.....unless they hover over her. Very observant on your part.
Love her birthday pictures. She's looking up at your like "Give me. more Nilla Ice Cream Dad!" Such an adorable expression. She is such a pretty girl. And yes, growing like a weed!!!
Thanks for the update AND the pictures. I still chuckle when I scroll back up and see how Blossom and Daisy respond to "leash training".
Hugs to all!!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Yesterday was a gorgeous day, bright sunshine and cool weather. A perfect day to take Blossom downtown for some socialization.
We found a parking spot across the street from the town square and headed out. Most Saturday afternoons it's packed with folks hanging out but yesterday it was almost empty. The square has 2 large grassy areas and Blossom headed for the closest one. Green thick grass with no weeds, seems like I remember our backyard looking very similar until 2 Golden puppies invaded it.
She rolled around, stretched, sniffed and finally settled, laying on her back, three legs pointed in the air.
Several people smiled as they walked by, but no one came over to pet her.
We started walking and hopping down 4th street towards the center of town where there just happens to be a Belgium Chocolate Store. A very sweet lady saw Blossom and started talking to Cindi about her. She was a hoot to talk to. Her husband and daughter also came over. We learned they owned the chocolate store. The conversation turned from how wonderful all things chocolate is/are to Blossom. We told them about our plans for her and why we were downtown. We mentioned Blossom is still a bit standoffish to most folks, the daughter reached down and started petting her. Cindi and I were stunned, Blossom was very receptive, even laying on her back for tummy rubs. This was the first time she allowed anyone, standing above her, to pet her. She had a way with animals and knew they were drawn to her.
We headed home, tired and happy. Blossom headed for the couch, she knew a nap was needed, and she took a long one. It was a big day for Blossom and we were so very proud of her!
