glad that Zoe is doing well! I also cannot wait for you all to be home together!

Cody and Fam

Cody is our 7 year old Australian Heeler mix boy. Diagnosed on 2/20/14 and became a tripawd 2/21/14! We chose a homeopathic approach and he is being treated by Dr. Loops our of NC.

Well we made it home on Thursday, but not without issues. WSU released Zoe with a temperature of 103.5. They told me it might be because of an infection and if her temperature did not go down by Friday, I needed to take her to our vet. I was pretty mad about this. I just forked out $3100.00 for oncology and surgery and now she has a fever! They were not very sympathetic. I ended up taking Zoe to our vet Friday for more IV fluids because her temp was at 103. He took a blood test and was concerned about her white blood count. She got to come home Friday, but only on 1 condition, I had to bring her back on Saturday for another blood test. Thankfully, her test came back with no issues and her temperature was back to normal. She has now been home recuperating. She is doing pretty well considering being poked all over the place. I find out today the results of the splenectomy  today, which will be B-9.

Jerry~ I do not know the Boughey's, but watching their video's about Rosco were a great inspiration to me and Zoe. I know she will do just fine being a tripawd. Just waiting to move forward with the process!

Keeping positive,

Patty & Zoe!

Jist want to send you and Zoe love and support! An amazng team!!

Sooooooo glad she's home and tjat stupid fever is gone!

Keep it chuned down for now. Regardless of any ole' "test results", just focus on recovery from this surgery. You jave beenon emotinal roller coaster and you need time to heal just like Zoe!!

I was owned b a dog named Bodie who, at twelve (or maybe he was thirteen at the time) had his spleen removed and it came back has benn some form or another of that stupid crap disease........Bodie just crossed over to the other side of this life right before Christmas.........at SIXTEEN! He didn't show any signs of slowing down at all until several weeks prior and then it was jist "senioritis" catching up with him.

You jave a wonderful attitude and are a srong advocate for Zoe! Now is the time to stayin tne moment with Zoe. Remember, she's not worried about a thing!! Test results don't mean squat to her! She's jist hapy getting all that loving and spoilng and extra goodies yo are lavishing on her.

Sendngyou love and higs.

Oh I'm so sorry! I hope she's better today.

Vet schools are always my first choice for major things like this but the challenge with them is that service can be very rushed and impersonal at times. They are usually so busy, I can see why they released her, probably to stay on schedule with their big case load.  Knowing your situation with the driving distance, I think maybe they were taking that into consideration when recommending that she should be discharged. Sorry it was upsetting.

One time while staying in Texas for a month, we had our Wyatt Ray at Texas A&M for exploratory surgery. He ended up going from a one night visit to recovering for over a week, it was super pricey leaving him there that long. That kind of stay at a vet practice is slightly less expensive.

I hope that Zoe doesn't need to go back until her stitches come out. Keep us posted.
