thanks cody rei. yea they did do xrays prior to the surgery. everything looked fine. right now she struggles to put weight on it. but i have seen her take a couple of steps with. but mostly she just drags it 🙁 ...i was wondering if you could post a pic of that shopping bag suggestion you gave me. i really wanna try that.

I know i have to call the vet but im terrified hes gonna tell me some bad news. and i cant handle that.

Okay...deep, deep breaths!!!!! BREATHE.....BREATHE.......B R E A T H E!! And grab a bag of chocolate!!!!!

Glad all the work up prior to surgery looked good!! This coukd be soooooo many strain related things.....including back strain as well as leg strain....slrain, pulled muscles, pinched, all things that are not too uncommon.

Yes, you do wa t to get the vet to check out the keg/back, then aybe physical therapy might be in order.

Is there any swelling, tenederness? How is Toby's overall attitude? Sleeping? Eating, drinking, etc.

The vet may lrescribe some anti inflammatory too, as well as rest.

Stay connected, we are all right here by yoir side!!! Update us.....no waiting too long in between updates this time, okay? We worry about our "family"!

If you click on the words "cloth shopping bag" in my last post it will take you to a photo, although its not a very good one. I'll look for a better one. Basically you just cut out the sides of the bag leaving the bottom intact. You can see from the photos in the link how to use it.

I know this is really scary and I am so sorry you have to go through this. But I know you only want the best for your girl. It is really good to know that her hips looked good in the xray. That is huge. Maybe she slipped and pulled something and its as simple as that. But at the least it sounds like she could use some pain meds.

xoxo,

Martha, Codie Rae, and the OP

Woohoo! I found step by step instructions for making a shopping bag sling! With pictures! Just click on the orange link. Its says to cut the bag along the side from top to bottom but it shows the whole side cut out, which will work better.

Jist want to add that, as "Codie Rae" already said, and I just want to reiterate, do call your vet and he'll probably want to check Toby over. And checking Toby over is a GOOD thing! Then you can get onto the solution of whatever is causing this disruption in Toby's walking!!

You will feel better, and Toby will definitely feel better!! Even if Toby just needs pain meds, she'll still feel better!

And ny goodness! You have already proven you are a strong young woman and a powerful advocate for your Toby! POWERFUL! And besides, we are all walking right by your side in this journey and that even adds more strength!!

Sendng lots of reassuring hugs...and a big dose of calm! Look forward to hearing from you!

Hang in there, you can get through this. Like Sahana said, it's important to try to pinpoint the symptoms so you can let your vet know. We can try to help but your vet is your best resource if this continues.

What kind of activity has she been getting? How much, and how often?

Regarding the Ace; don't panic, if you're not using it now that's not the cause, most likely.

Here's a post we did about shopping bag slings.

Have you been able to get Toby to the vet?  Just wondering how the sweet girl is doing.

I know it's a scary thing when your fur baby is in pain.  Your vet is the best resource at this point and has the ability to get Toby back on the road to feeling better.  Like others have mentioned there are several different things that could be causing the pain.  We're here to lend you support whatever the cause is.

Hang in there...Toby needs you!

yes i did go yesterday morning to talk personally with the vet. i didnt want to hurt toby by trying to put her in the car so i went by myself. he prescribed derremaxx. and it seems to be helping. she can now walk a little more but still kinda falls sometimes. i made an appointment for friday to get xrays :/

in the meantime, i would love to share some pics of toby with y'all :]  but im not sure how...

Yay! Glad to hear Toby is doing better with some pain medssmiley. All Lucky 13 paws crossed here that she continues to improve and that the xrays are clean.

We would love to see some photos of your beautiful girl! Here is a link to instructions for posting them. Basically, if you don't have a Tripawds blog then you have to upload them somewhere else first, like Instagram or Pintrest or Photobucket, Facebook might work too, but I'm not sure....You can also start a blog here for free and then use the blog dashboard to upload photos.

Let us know what happens Friday, OK?
