Brindie came home saturday was very stressed. On sunday she  would not rest ,did not want to get on her bed, was extremely sensitive to touch and just walk in circles outside panting constantly. Her back legs were shaking so bad that we  afraid she would fall down and couldn't get her up because of be in so much pain. She was given all her meds so didn't want to over medicate.Call  vet 24hr care to bring her in ,she  had a temp of 106 and they adviced keeping over night with  constant meds  .This morning she is with her surgeon waiting for call back maybe to try again to bring home. Hope this time goes better for her and us It was a very helpless feeling being able to do nothing for her at home as she was unbearably stressred .If she can't or won't  lay down were not sure what we can do. Thanks for any help anyone can offer .

Bless your heart Sweet Brindie.  Sounds like the vet will be able to get her temperature down and figure out what the heck is going on.  Good for ou gettng her help so quickly.  It breaks our hearts to watch them go through pain and not being able to help them and I can only say we are all here for you wishing we could take Brindie's pain away and ease your fear and stress.         Her situation certainly seems surgery related and that's about all I can offer on that end.     Happy Hannah most definitely has had a difficult time getting past the surgery itself and what you are describing sounds all too familiar.   Some dogs just have a harder recovery than  others.  Perhaps others can address the fever better than I.      I can be a great resource though for the category of "some recoveries take a little while longer----or a lot longer"    BUT, recovery does happen and the sparkle does, indeed, come back!     I so wish I could help you more right now.   Please know you are not alone.  Please know we are all here for you.  Once this fever thing gets resolved I know you - and  Brindid-- will feel so much better.     Please let us hear from you when you have a moment.  And as everyone always tells me   --- breathe----in---out---deep exhale.  We are with ou

Thankyou for your support. Up date vet called back this mourning and adviced to keep her another couple days to heal a little more. He said that she does seem very sensitive and will remove drain tomorrow which might help. We miss her over these tough days for her, but after reading everyones replys, we are hoping to get our brindie back as normal as possible.

Some dogs do have a harder time with recovery.  I am glad your vet is keeping her to keep an eye on things.  I am glad they called and updated you.  Glad to hear the surgery went well.

Update on Brindie, this her second day at the vets and they say she is doing very well. she is up 3 or4 times a day and resting well at night. Tomorrow he will remove the drain and probably come home on thursday. This vet is very concerned for her well being and has made it our decision to bring her home. I know it is considerable more cost but knowing that she is getting 24 hour care is a big relief. It was a mistake to take her home one day after surgery, she just wasn't  ready and neither were we. Again we will try  I think she will be  better second time around. It's so hard to see them suffer and not being able to do much. Thanks everyone for your support.
