We havent been to the forums in quite a while, but for those who might remember us, we wanted to check in! We are approaching Pollyanna's first anniversary as a tripawd. It was last feb 9th that my husband and I made one of the most difficult decisions of our lives, and I took Polly in for her surgery.
We are feeling so blessed to report that the past year has been well worth every penny and every tear and every anxious moment! Though we have definitely had bumps in the road (no pun intended), Polly is doing really well. She goes on short hikes, she plays in the dogpark several times a week, walks every day, and enriches our lives every moment. She will be 14 next month, but people are still surprised to hear that when they meet her! She has lost some kidney function, and some weight, and her rear legs are not 100% every day. Shas high blood pressure now, but it is controlled with meds, and she is a happy girl with as full and active a life as you could hope for for any dog her age!
We truly have "No Regrets" and we are so very grateful for the support we received from everyone here on tripawds.com.
We are planning a little party for Polly in our local park on feb 7, 2010. If you are in the San Diego, CA area, please email us for details! 🙂
We will try to upload photos and video soon!
Thank you again to Jerry and everyone here. Your support had a huge influence on our decision to go forward with surgery. You have made an enormous difference in Polly's life, in ours, and in the lives of everyone who meets her! 🙂
Welcome back kty8! It's wonderful to hear Polly is still doing so well. Can't wait to hear about her hoppy ampuversary celebration. Consider starting a topic in the Tripawd Parties forum to plan your get-together.
