Hello!
I did not think I'd be active in this group 1 year post surgery, but here we are! I am please to report that Bury is now past his 1 year mark post surgery. He is doing great! One small concern I have is a bloody cyst-like bump between his toes on his front paw. It occasionally swells and oozes, but often deflates. I noticed when it rains is when it swells up (might be a coincidence though).
Bury is very active and refuses to adjust his life, so I allow it because it makes him happy. This cyst-like bump doesn't seem to bother him, maybe an occasional lick. I keep it clean but it isn't going away. Has anyone experienced any irritations like this post surgery? He is obviously putting on more weight on his front leg (back leg was amputated). Or it could be an allergy. Thought I'd reach out to discuss with others.

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AND BURY ON A ONE YEAR PLUS VICTORY!!!! 👏👏👏
Bury is such an inspiration to anyone starting this journey. What makes it even more inspirational is that you have gone holistic and natural route. So often people agonize over whether to do chemo or not and, we always say, it's a crap shoot what do you do it or not!
We always love to hear stories like Bury's to show that chemo may, or may not extend quality. Natural approach, holistic, supplements, Etc may or may not extend quality, but we love it when it looks like it does,
I really don't have much insight into the sore on Murray's paw. It could be so many things some type of ingrown hair that continues to crop up and get infected, Maybe some type of "debris" that's gotten embedded in there and causing the issue, Etc My only other suggestion would be to have a vet look at it and see if an antibiotic is necessary or it needs to be investigated for others so you can find a good solution. It ,au even be so e type pf cyst that meets removed.
Good to jesr room you!!

WoOOOOHOOOO! Pola it is great to hear from you, congratulations on Bury's one year ampuversary! He sounds like he's doing pretty good overall.
Many Tripawds will get pressure sores as a result of their altered gait. I'm not sure if the rain has any relation to it or not. But I would have your vet check it out just in case it's something else.
Meanwhile can you get a dog boot to put on that paw, so that the sore spot can heal? Putting baby powder inside the boot will keep the moisture down too, which helps reduce friction and rubbing.
