Hi everyone,

Nesta and I are still doing well, as he just celebrated his 7 month ampuversary last week.  He seems to be doing well with the nutrition and food protocol he has been on.  Just a quick side note, that we chose NOT to do chemotherapy, and have instead consulted 3 holistic veterinarians for opinions and suggestions for homeopathic and herbal supplements instead of chemo.  Osteosarcoma was his reason for the amputation.  All seems to be working well with his system, but of course there is always the fear that I am missing something important and maybe spending too much money on one thing when I should be giving him another thing.  I had an intuitive feeling that maybe it was time to go in for a physical exam with the third holistic veterinarian we had consulted with, as she was the closest to my home.  She prescribed a new supplement for Nesta called Stasis Breaker and I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with it.

I have an email in to my wonderful veterinarian whom I have never met in person, who has been an angel through this all, to see what she thinks.

The other thing is that this new vet. does not push the use of artemisinin which I have been using and have read about so much about.  So I have discontinued the artemisinin until I try this stasis breaker for a while because both are expensive, and I don't want to over-dose him on supplements. If you are curious about what else Nesta is taking: he is also on 50,000 IU vit. A 3x per week, Hoxsey-like Formula with Boneset, cod liver oil, and an herbal pain reliever for a pain that I cannot exactly pinpoint.  We think it's phantom limb, poor fella.  THis has been a difficult one to figure out.  More on that later.

Thanks!

Sir Nesta is rockin! That's awesome he's living the good life, congrats to both of you.

It looks like stasis breaker has been mentioned a few times here in the Forums but I don't have any experience with it either. If you scroll though these search results you should find some information that others have shared.

You've got a great holistic treatment plan going, we'd love to hear more so feel free to keep us posted OK?

And of course give Nesta a big hug from us!

That's a wonderful update on Nesta! Seven month ampuverary----CONGRATULATIONS!

Thanks for sharing the "good stuff" your Nesta is on! Clearly whatever you're doing is working great!! I wouldn't change a thing! I haven't heard of the supplement you mentioned, but I'm not that well versed on all the wonderful holistic options out there, it certainly open to almost anything that will do no harm, and could possibly do a lot of good!

Keep on loving and spoiling your beloved Nesta! Your journey is inspirational and shows the many paths available and good for you for listening to your intuition--sounds like you've got a pretty good inner-guide whispering in your ear!

Look forward to hearing re about how you are proceeding. When ho have time, would love to her your nutrition all guidelines too!

Keep on keeping on Nesta-----you are rockin':-) :-)

I did use Stasis Breaker with one of my other dogs that had intestinal cancer. She did not have any side effects and lived for 1 1/2 years.  It is often paired with an immune booster (I used Power Mushrooms)

Thank you all for the helpful and kind feedback here!  Nesta seems to be okay for now with the stasis breaker, but again, it's still so hard to know if what I am giving him is what he needs.

Sally and Happy Hannah, you are so so wonderful and kind!  I will write an updated blog post soon with all the details on Nesta's regimen.  This is something I am worried about lately, as I am noticing some things about Nesta changing....wondering if it is time to go see the Oncologist for the first time since his amputation....

Pam, was the stasis breaker helpful?  Was it one of the only supplements you gave Tazzie?  If so, and Tazzie lived 1 1/2 years longer, I would say it was helpful?  WIth NEsta, it's hard to say what's helping him and what's not, because he is on several different things.

Jerry, Thank you for the search results on stasis breaker.  I have been reading through some of the threads, some I find mention of it, and some I do not.

It is very helpful to read through it all, yet makes me sad at the same time.  I am sure you all understand.  It's a heavy load to carry.  And a lot of the time, it makes me feel like I need to be on my computer less and on the floor with Nesta more!  His precious life is such a blessing!

Hey Kassi and Seet Nesta! Jist want you to know we DO understand! This site can be the most joyful place on earth one minute, and then so heartbreaking the next, yoj can jardly catch our breath! As Roxie's mom said recently, when we celebrate for others...we also celebrate for ourselves; when we grieve for others, we also grieve for ourselves.

Also, trust me, we all have the same questions, doubts, fears, comcerns, aout whichever "treatment", or "non-treatmemt", we are forced to select! I just keep remimding myself to not let anything take away from me staiyng present and in the moment with the bliss of being with my Happy Hannah. One of those darn "life lessns" we get to practice!

I applaud you for taki g the route you've taken with Nesta. You kowyour pup and you kow what's best for him. Your deep connectin has guided you to some of your choices....and they are working...collectively or individualy..--alomg with the great energy of Nesta! You aren't "missng" anything. If there IS something you need to check out....you will be guided to it. Just trust.

Now go hug that precius Nesta and plant a great big kiss on that wonderful mug:-) Tail's wagging, isn't it?! Nice sight!

I gave the Stasis Breaker to my dog Kona (65 pound Pitbull) for intestinal leiomyosarcoma.  That is a rare cancer so I am not sure if it helped because I also used Power Mushrooms and fish oil.  I had tried metronomic chemo with oral CCNU prior but her liver had a problem with the drug so I stopped after 2 months.

I did talk to my holistic vet about it first and she said that Stasis Breaker is very safe for most dogs but there is a weaker formula (I forgot the name) for dogs who are more immunosuppressed.

Dear Kassi, I was wondering how Nesta went with the treatment since its been some years now. I hope remission was the case. My beautiful Romeo has been amputated just a few days ago and I am doing as well an alternative treatment, definitively not Chemo. Are there any supplements or herbs that you would definitively recommend? I have just ordered the Artimisinin among others and have been looking at Stasis Breaker but  just like you i don't want to overdose him with so many things.

all the best,

Daniela

Our schnauzer was diagnosed this past April with a tumor between his first and second vertebra. The neurologist showed us the path of chemo but we opted not to go that way. After looking into holistic alternatives and visiting a couple of veterinarians, we've been very please with the one we are with and the first thing they suggested was that we start taking stasis breaker. Our dog has made tremendous progress. Along with the stasis breaker, he is also on a strict diet which we order online from Honest Kitchen and he is taking prednisone but we've been able to decrease his dose from 10mg to 5mg daily. He went from having to be picked up to go up two steps to now jumping on the sofa at nights sitting beside me. Unbelievable!

Hi banditfoster! That sounds so amazing!! May I ask where did you buy the stasis breaker? I have found it on Well-pet dispensary page only?

Hi, I used stasis breaker in combination with bone stasis for my Dobe, Nitro. His holestic vet started it on him about a month after surgery for osteosaroma, and I think was on it for 6-9 months. (We got it from her). His surgery was in June 2014, and he continues to do well today; he also had 6 rounds of carboplatin and about 10 months of metronomic therapy, so who knows what, if any of it, is the reason he's still with us. He will be 11 years old on Halloween, and is still rockin' it on 3 legs! Good luck as you move forward.

Paula and Nitro

Nitro 11 1/2  yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms.  Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"
