Great news! I am so glad he is feeling better.
I know how you feel- the down for the count part. Maggie had a big crash at one point and almost everyone thought she was done. But she bounced back to her stubborn pug self. As if we needed a reminder to treasure each day!

Awesome news! I'm SO happy! Yey, Atlas!!!
I know you really want to give him the power of mushrooms, though. There are many products. You could always try another, very slowly and make sure you've got Cerenia nearby! Or, as you're alluding to, forgo anymore dietary changes and just be comfortable with that.

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
I'm laughing at my posts, I was so frantic and exhausted. I sounded like a robot. I just go into 'taking care of business mode' in order to keep it together and mind the tasks at hand. You guys are all so cool, you recognize the behavior and just circle the wagons with support. Thank you so much.
Atlas has come fully back around now. After a couple days of nothing but sleep, he had some of his regular Merrick dog food mixed in with breakfast chicken soup this morning. I can't believe its been 8 days of this. Karen, I guess he thought he would take after his little bud Tani and take a full week to recover. Lori, Dr. W said your exact words about the whole thing being exacerbated due to his wobblers. And Katy, here we all thought just hold off on the supplements for a day and let his tummy settle. HA! Right! I'm even wondering if we got a bad batch of mushrooms. Will definitely contact Health Concerns to let them know our experience. I don't think I can use them, but I'm afraid to donate them to anyone.
Sally, we are doing the Happy Hoppy Dance for sure over here! Sorry I never answered you, but no, Atlas wouldn't get into anything and since we work from home, he's under supervision pretty much 24/7. Atlas is like having the best behaved friend in your house. He has never so much as chewed the first shoe. Now if it was Luba, totally different story.
Luba is doing so good I forgot to even mention her. She has been off the tramadol for 3 days now and is jogging across the yard to go outside with a big smile on her face. She is obviously no longer in pain and no longer limping. The antibiotics are working great, the swelling is down and infection seems under control, but we still need to complete the full 2 weeks of meds. You can see this big cyst looking thing poking out the side of her toe which is why Dr. W originally feared cancer and amputation. That's why I was happy the X-Ray revealed a broken toe. (You guys must of thought I lost it....and I did for a minute)
Jerry you are so wise, you've learned long ago that most diagnosis are % science and % best guess. You take every diagnosis with such a measured level head and a wonderful ability to step back and see the FULL picture. You are such a great asset in my Atlas resource toolbox! Thank you!
Us Pawrents are all fine, we kind of always knew Atlas and Luba would grow old together. Thankfully, that was just a bump in the road and we're cruising along again.
Here's a picture of the Might Atlas sunbathing to restore his juju.
I'm SO excited that things are back to nearly normal! WAHOOOOOO!
And actually, I didn't think you were crazy being thankful it wasn't cancer in Luba! I got it. Totally. And congrats to Luba, too, for rebounding! Yippee, skippy!
