I was just reading through some of the posts that Shanna wrote. It's so weird I picked this one. I asked her to post this here because I thought many could use it. This I guess I have to give myself permission to grieve so I am copying the original post and will share the link after I copy it. But Shanna for you I give myself permission to grieve and you will never be forgotten. You hold a special place in my heart and always will along with my Sassy.
Today, Shari was reflecting on Dakota being gone two years and how she felt. I wrote the following and another tripawd ambassador who saw it asked that I share it here, as she felt there were some here who could benefit from my perspective. I am sharing the following per that request. Moderators, please move this to a different topic if you feel it is better somewhere else.
"Shari's post about Dakota prompted me to put this out there. March will be 4 years Trouble has been gone. I miss her tremendously. Duke & Emmi fill a void, but just are not close to being the same. I love them, and they make me smile, but still it isn't the same. Time has helped me embrace the emptiness she left, but I knew by the two year mark, she will be the one I will never get over. She will be the one I always miss, the one a tear will always fall for.
For those who continue to struggle with the emotion of losing that special tripawd, consider giving yourself permission to never get over losing them. It lessened the pain I carried with me once I realized there was nothing wrong with me, that I may grieve that loss forever. It doesn't mean you focus on it, or let it keep you from functioning. It means it's ok to have those sad moments. Just keep the beautiful memories close as well. The ones that bring a smile, that lift your heart and your spirit just to remember those years you were blessed to spend with that lovely pet."

Michelle, thank you for giving us the chance to celebrate Shanna and all that she is.
And to each of you who have come back to share so many special stories of how she impacted each of you, thank you for that.. I've read every link that was posted.
One thing that is very, very clear, Shanna was very loved by everyone. And what should comfort all of us is that she exited this life KNOWING her life .mattered to so many, KNOWING she touched so many, KNOWING her legacy and the legacy of Trouble will continue on here through all of us.
It's as though Shanna was "preparing" everyone for this day. If you read the posts and the links Michelle and Karen gave us, and all the remembrances everyone shared, it's clear Shanna is chock full.of ADVANCED SOUL ENLIGHTENMENT!! Yes, she was preparing everyone for this transition for a long time. She left words of comfort. She actually is STIL speaking to everyone and comforting everyone! Pretty special gal!!
With love to all

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Thanks for sharing those posts, Karen and Michelle. I hadn't thought of doing it, I was just so shocked by the news.
Like you said Karen, she was a practical, no-nonsence kind of person. Her advice was crystal clear every time she gave it, and she never beat around the bush when things needed to be said. I really appreciated that trait about her, especially during her time as moderator, it was so helpful.
We meet so many wonderful people in this community. Each member influences us in their own special way and like their pets, even when they no longer post here, their legacy will always live on here and continue to help future members. It's an honor to be surrounded by such positive energy and love.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Luckily, Diane (Max's Mom) let us know and it is now clear why there is this warped hole in the universe. Shanna was always a rock of support and gave so completely to those who are on this TriPaw journey. When the total membership of this site was rather small, five of us began our journey in a single month. We have referred to ourselves as the "November Five" - Nova, Cherry, Max, Trouble, and Tiki. There was an incredibly strong bond that formed and we were the strongest of supporters, greatest sources of information, and loudest voices cheering the successes "Ampuverseries". Especially during those earliest years, the success of these five is a testament to the quality of the support that was shared by all.
While we may no longer have the privilege of Shanna's contribution, her wisdom, support and shinning candle will continue within all of us who knew her. She will be missed beyond any words. We can and will shed many tears, our heart felt sympathy goes out to Bob and all her family, and we totally believe that Shanna has gathered her Trouble at the Rainbow Bridge.
Godspeed and know that you have left a huge legacy Shanna.
