Today marks six months since my spirit was set free.
Mom went running today, and felt my presence more than ever. On a beautiful spring morning in the Texas Hill Country, her heart was comforted as she ran toward the dawn sunrise.
The golden light lit up shiny new green leaves on big oak trees. Then she saw the reddest "vermillion flycatcher" bird that she'd ever seen, and smiled thinking about how my spirit was there in that beautiful bird.
Six months later, it's not that it's easier to live life without me around to cuddle and hold. She still gets all watery-eyed, even just writing this.
It's just that with the passage of time, she's able to better accept that I'm not gone, I'm just everywhere now.

I love you dawg. Six months without you feels like forever. It seems like just yesterday we could rub your ears for a quick dose of love to fix any woes. But while I do miss you immensely, knowing that your spirit lives on makes holding back the tears a little bit easier.
The community you have devleoped here is full of caring souls who continue to help each other coping with concerns about their own three legged pups. And it grows with new members every day. With their help in our server upgrade campaign, we will be able to keep you alive here forever.
This is your legacy. We hope to never let you down. Thanks for all the daily reminders that it's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four!
Jerry lives every day in this legacy he left behind. This forum has been so much help to so many of us as we face live with our tripawd.
Thank you, Jerry, for being the inspriration that keeps this going.

Jerry - we had our xrays today and mom was really, really nervous. I'm coming up on a year post amputation in just 6 days. Mom purposely made the appointment today...hoping that you would have something to do with the outcome and whelp, you did a great job pal - no lung mets!!! thanks buddy!!!
I hope you know how much you have touched everyone's lives. You have left quite a legacy pal...we can't thank your pawrents enough for carrying it.
We love you sweet boy.

Ditto Zeus- we can't thank your pawrents enough- it is an honor to be a part of this wonderful family you've created.
It was a week ago today that we set Wrigley free- Rookie and I went for a walk at the river this morning and I swear she was right there next to us running along. Sometimes I see him staring off into the sky as if he sees something- I am sure it is her he sees. They never really leave us.
I am sure six months from now I will still get weepy thinking about her- but that is the love they have left with us.
Jerry- thank you for keeping that light shining- it brings great comfort to so many. You are our hero.

I have to chime in too here -- Jerry's pawrents have been a HUGE help to me as I continue to deal with the loss of Jack. Jerry was the inspiration for this amazing site and what a testament to his legacy. Amazing how certain pups can enter our lives and leave us forever changed. Jerry has reached out into the lives of so many others.... with an assist from Jim and Rene, of course
Its a little over 3 months since Jack's passing.... I miss him every day. But I also feel his presence every day -- as Jerry points out, he is everywhere now.... but damn I still miss those soft ears of his!! And now I'm watery-eyed... sorry Jerry!!

Willy and I want to send our love and appreciation to spirit Jerry. His spirit had already been set free when we joined this wonderful network of support, but he seemed very present to us! We are 10 weeks post-amputation and lovin' every minute of it. I'm not sure that we would have had the courage to have the amputation without the support of this network. So a big thanks and love to Jerry for inspiring his pawrents to create such a powerful legacy and thanks to all of the wonderful people who contribute. Tripawds Rock!!!
Willy--diagnosed with osteosarcoma January 5, 2009 (amputation January 27, 2009) left us just after his 11th birthday on December 2, 2009 to join all the other brave tripawds. We'll always love you!
Thank you so much for your comments and support! Together we can teach the world that tripawds do indeed rock.
