I am so sorry for your loss.  Please know that Rocky truly was an inspiration to many of us.  I distinctly remember reading about him when we first received the diagnosis and literally crying because he gave me hope.  I grieve your loss, but I also celebrate Rocky as a life well lived and a true cancer survivor.

Lisa

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

I am so sorry to hear about Rocky. What a beautiful boy he was and what a brave fight he waged. Then, when he couldn't fight any more, he knew he could count on you to end his suffering. It is a terrible, but loving decision. Your buddy is running pain-free now.

I know how much you will miss him, but he will always stay in your heart. May your joyful memories comfort you during this time.

Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011
Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.

We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.

I love this video, he looked so very sweet.  I'm so sorry that you are dealing with this pain, saying goodbye is the hardest thing to do.  We are amazed at how long his journey was, 34 wonderful months, Wow!

Rocky I'm so glad you beat cancer, you gave Sammy and I such hope when we started our journey.  I'm sorry your momma has to cry now but it is because you are loved so much.

Sending you many hugs and prayers for you and Rocky,

I was so sad to read this news, my heart goes out to you and your family Michelle, I'm so, so sorry.

Rocky has been a remarkable, inspirational role model for so many people here. When we think of that is possible after a diagnosis, he is always on our mind. Please know that his story will continue to bring hope and comfort to many, and we hope that the life you shared together will bring you comfort at this difficult time.

Run free Rocky, you will always be a Tripawd hero to us. We love you.

(thanks for posting the video Comet, it was great to see Rocky's sweet face once again)

Rocky went out a cancer survivor, a Tripawd warrior, and an inspiration.

I hope all of that brings some comfort to you over the coming days and weeks.

I know how hard it is to have your pup survive the cancer that led to amputation, only to lose them to something else. Rocky will live on in your heart and will be always by your side.

Thanks everyone for the support and kind words, and thanks to Sue for posting those photos. Rocky's smiling because he got to play with a bunch of pretty girls.

Ge'Lena, that video you made for Rocky always warms my heart - I can never thank you enough.

Something kind of neat happened today.

My Grandma passed away 19 years ago. About 7 years ago, her house was going to be torn down, so I dug out some roses she had planted in front of her house. Grandma loved those roses, and I couldn't stand to see them destroyed.

These roses were already 45 years old at the time, so when I replanted them at my house, I didn't expect much, and didn't get much - they rarely bloomed.

I came home after work today and to my surprise, there are all these beautiful roses on that plant that rarely bloomed! I'm taking this as a sign from my Grandma that she's helping Rocky get settled in on the other side.

Such a beautiful video tribute to a true tripawd warrior! Rocky is an inspiration to all of us. I'm so very sorry for your loss-what an incredible life he had.

Joan, Lily's mom

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

I know I wrote on your fb page, but I wanted to comment here too.  I am so sorry for your loss - but rejoicing with your over those gorgeous red roses!  Perfect signs from above!  I will always treasure our two Michigan Tripawd Parties!  Rocky and Boo's first days as tripawds were only a few weeks apart....and now the same with their passing.  It was a joy to share this tripawd experience with you Michelle and to lean on each other for support.  Wishing you many happier days ahead.

And Sue - Thanks for making me cry with your first post!  I agree; only the angels can catch Boo now!!

...However, I'm certain Boo would stop for a play-date with a pup as handsome as Rocky!

Boo became a Tripawd Warrior Princess on Sept 8, 2009. She crossed over the Rainbow Bridge 2.7 years later on April 29, 2012. Run free Angel Boo!
